what do you do when you realise your first exam is actually two days later than you thought? you make the most of the extra time to get more study in wait, did i just say that? lol. actually you spend more time/money or your oldschool rides! just more primer filler. going to do whole car and then leave it till after exams

yay one colour(ish), still lots of stone chips and scratches to work on, but the major work is done. hard to see put it looks a gazillion times better than it did.

i got mine powder coated (13"s) and they were 50 buks a wheel. cant imagine it beeing much more for bigger wheels.

doesnt limp mode drastically reduce the power? when its unplugged, apart from the higher idle (around 2000) it drives perfectly normal. ive checked the vac lines from the throttle body and intake mani and am prety sure they are all sweet

hmmm i can see that causing it. its just the whole unplugging the TPS stops it surging, but its worth a look. now that you mention it, i found a bottle of injector cleaner stuff in the boot when i was chucking some sounds in.....ill tell her to chuck it in the tank when she puts gas in

ah that makes sense, was only 20 bus for another one so no biggy . so it must be something that gets the info from the TPS and adjusts the idle accordingly thats fucking out. was told it will most likely be the idle stepper motor and fuel (chur bro) sent me some real good links, but the info they gave me doenst quite match up with this engine. there is another big ass thing attatched to the trottle body underneath at the back, which when unplugged has no effect...so yeh im stumped.

ive had a good fiddle/nosey, but im stumped. when i unplug this thing (see photo) it stops surging but idles at like 2000 and i cant adjust it any lower. so i got a second hand one but the exact same thing happens......it attaches to the throttlw body, and kinda hooks onto the butterfly shaft and i assume its the electric idle control but yeh im stumped. figured it must be something deeper in the computer so in my mind it rules out vacum leaks or air flow meter as surely if it was either of them then it would change when i unplugged that thingy ma bob

haha guts!! lol ill be keen for a meet start of next year....ive got exams now and then head back up to hamilton for the summer so yeh, definitly keen for a big one next year. maybe make it worthwile and try get some other south islanders in/up/down. and that clutch is sitting on my floor for you lol

hey all. the girlfriends car is packing a sad. have tried fixing it but i dont know enough about efi systems and ecus lol. its a 1994 libero, 1800 and has a surging idle. gotten to the point where she just wants its fixed. so yeh, anyone on here a mechanic and can do mate rates? haha cheers

not trying to sound like a prick.......but are you sure its actually the bumpstops? would be worth having a peak under the car wile someone is jumping up and down on it, and source exactly where the noise is coming from....might just be something silly.... woth a shot anyway

discuss viewtopic.php?f=18&t=18863 and so it begins..... bonnet is at panel beaters so have made a start on the rest of the car. front right guard was full of huge patches of loose job that i could pick off with my fingers...filled in spot light holes on front valence, as well as holes where it used to have a front spoiler....lol havn a bit of trouble getn the chrome trim off from around the rear arches as the gurads have all been rolled at some point hence hiding the nuts which i need to undo to take the chrome off. will have to try un roll a bit i suppose few pics

from what ive seen a 2L pinto looks exactly the same as a ca18det......
