  1. brought new boot today, as mine has 4 holes from spoiler. could have got them welded up but for the price it was a straight as straight bonnet with no rust and all the badges so was a dam site easier. am going to sell my van (anyone keen? lol) so hopefully will have a bit of cash to get the rust in the bonnet fixed, and the front guard needs shit load of work. can anyone recomend a place in christchurch for rust repairs and panel beating? the plan is after summer to get it painted as i will have money from working all summer.
  2. ive actually been meaning to chamge fuel filter as twice i have just lost power and it wont rev, but then after a moment or 7 it clears its self out and runs fine.
  3. sell it to me when you get bored of it.....and i still owe you 10 buks haha
  4. hey all. my trusty 83 delica just surving the hell that is undie 500, and made the ctrip from chch to duniden and back with out any issues, but now has developed some nasty symptoms, and and hoping someone can give me an idea on what myt be causing them.... it has always had a shit idle, ie real grumpy and ranges jumps around a fair bit, almost spluttering. smells like its running rich but checked a plug and looked prety good, tried mixture screw (well at least i think it was) but to now avail. also, when taking foot of the go pedal it will often crackle pop and back fire (not once or twice but at random intervals, ie going down a hill it will do it again and again). also, it has uber over run, ie when i turn the key off it stumbles for 5-10 seconds then goes vroom and stops....i think its haunted is there something that would be causing these all?> cheers
  5. correct you are. so yeh, just undo the two nuts and the shackle will slide apart. sometimes takes a bit of persuasion due to the rubber bush's
  6. if its the shakles you are talking about, there are nuts at the top and bottom (im assuming its the same as a cortina...) and by undoing both of these you can pull the shackles apart, both sides
  7. what hes said ^^ had to do the one in the cortina, cost like 6 buks from repco....
  8. righto, wouldnt be to worried about that, there is always some load being put into the drivetrain even in neutral and with the wheels off the ground the resistnace isnt there so yeh
  9. hey all. can anyone tell me what the engine in my 1983 delica is likely to be? i know its a 1800 but thats it haha. i also need to figure out which is the mixture screw on the carb as its running uber rich... chur chur
  10. does this mean your keen for the civic? haha its real cheap!!
  11. na its a carb leak for sure funny guys
  12. ahh i see. so just track down a replacement then? is there a way to test it?
  13. i have no idea what a stepper motor is.....haha edit...just wikied that shit, sounds intense
  14. well that sounds gay doesnt it lol. nah not selling it, apart from the idle its a sweet car, perfect for what she needs
  15. ah yes. whats the best way to check for leaks? just do a general inspection of pipes/hoses etc?
  16. girlfriend has a mitsi libero and the idle fluctuates between like 900 and 2000 at random times....will do it for a while and then start the car again and will go away. have heard of cars doing it before but cant remember what the possible/probable causes are. am thinking air flow meter maybe? any tips? cheers
  17. cheers man, will get some more/better pics when the weather fines up. they look so good in the sun with the gold
  18. yeh im stoked a, cheers again for helping out. haha yeh i really should get around to fixing that oil leak.....its rather um frequent...haha
  19. there will only be like 3 20c coins worth of surface area holding the glass....should be right though
  20. fuck.that might work. its not actually a hinge, more of a small steel tab. but that might actually work. genius
  21. nah its not flat.....looks like ill have to test my window fitting skills then.... will see what ltsa dude says about making replacement panels, as i know one of the guys on here has a escort wagon and got sheet metal panels made up that got glued in (done profesionally) and he had no probs with wof etc....
  22. i assume its factory...its the rear side window. got it from a wrecked van. the window that broke in my van if one of those that you can slightly open with a lever thingy, so is only actually attached to the van with 3 screws......hope that makes sense. now the new window i got is the same shape glass but was from a van that didnt have an opening window, so had a full seal. i have the seal but it has been sliced when removed from the donor van. so i figured it would be a lot easier to just get the three holes (bout 5-6mm diam) and attach the window that way, then fucking around with the sliced window seal. but if the holes can be drilled then it wont be a lot easier haha also, if the dam ltsa would email me back, then i will just make up new panels out of sheet metal or something and glue/rivet them in place, cause i dont actually car about the windows haha. but am not sure of the leagility behind doing this
