  2. Good to see the system works! She warned me I wasnt allowed to speed on my freshly registered scooter, funny lady that one. Jokes on her, its a bare frame. I have a 125 with my name on it also for the Dax
  3. My ST70 turned into a ST50.... vauge is good. Rego'd my DJ1 and accidentally used the engine number as a frame number. AA lady wasnt bothered
  4. Have succesfully registered both my classic scoots at local AA, with vaugely accurate frame numbers.
  5. And typically, though Im on call I didnt get a call so coulda been there. Next time!
  6. Slow boat arrived the other day. So here's a 4"rim with 3.00 x10 tyre vs a stock 2.75"rim with 3.50x10 And started mocking things up Its a 5cm longer swingarm, put the 4" rim on the front but will be running 3.5" front with 4" rear. Undecided on tyres as yet, probably go continental twist but unsure what size.
  7. Just be sure not to spend anything on the electrical side of things until you decide if you are staying 6v with an old engine or going 12v with a lifan
  8. Sorry for? Just rebuild the rest of the bike and worry about a motor later.
  9. Aaand just found out im on call for this weekend instead of the one after like I thought
  10. Hopefully parts arrive in time to get Chaly going as an option for this, might at least bring the DJ1 along if time allows
  11. Just saw 4x vehicles loaded up with scoots heading out of whk so I assume it was a succesfull day
  12. Probably been like 3 intersections all day until they got to gizzy. Be about 1 tomorrow
  13. I will wave from work as you drive in to whk. Jealous of your adventure, next time I will join hopefully
  14. Apparently yep includes opotiki, will send you a pic from the beacon. Obviously 5pm is worst case scenario, could just be a 2 hour job and be done by 10am but have to warn of longer just in case
  15. As an fyi i see in todays paper that there will be no power from Waihau bay to Wainui on Sunday 11th from. 7:30am to 5pm.
  16. Sweet a squash, id be maybe keen on that if you ever get sick of it
  17. Have started mocking up the Dax, will be a long slow process as funds allow Have also just placed an order for a extended rear swingarm, 3.5" front rim (same as Chaly) but a 4" rear rim. Its all on the slow boat from Japan so will be a while before it arrives
  18. Yea a few years ago a male german backpacker got picked up and bum violated by a local gang member......so nothing that wont be happening anyway with you lot. As long as yout arnt taking their seafood you should be fine Im out of this covering a week on call, plus maintenance shut at work plus re roofing house = busy november
  19. Bike build has begun, however still 50/50 on attendence. Am re roofing my house in November so if its a fine weekend will possibly be doing that. Also re: local food. Be prepared to feel as though the locals arnt really bothered if you are there or not. Often get the impression that even though you are giving them money they would almost prefer to be left alone with no business
  20. So a bit of an update, as seen in above pics I put those rear shocks on (aliexpress 300mm long ones), needed to trim the rear guard Look pretty decent all together Started working on the Dax, engine is poked but will be robbing the head for the Chaly (72cc head so bigger valves and matches the 72cc cyl and piston better) Every single nut and bolt on the thing was wrong, and rear swing arm needed to be removed with a hacksaw. Have also accumulated a lot of parts, disc front end, new headlight/speedo, 12v LED tail light and mount, front and rear fenders, handlebars, new loom etc. Just need a swingarm, all new nuts and bolts, lifan 125cc, seat and every other little thing im forgetting Also aquired another DJ-1, its pretty fucked. Was dumped in a forestry block. But engine turns over (havnt had it running yet) and some of the plastics are better than mine Chaly has a flat tyre (second one) so is parked up as it wasnt running so well in the cold mornings on the way to work, plus want to swap a bigger carb on for some longer legs as it is painfully slow, DJ1 is still used daily
  21. I agree, bank account does not change in job has reduced my overtime and project funds. Will see how I go, could almost finish the dax as all it needs is an engine
  22. Need to spend some $$ on my chaly for this, it only manages 55kph so would be a loooooooong trip.
  23. Waikeremoana route would be cool, want to drive it at some stage/way to soft and girly to ride it
