  1. Does someone in palmy have one that I could come take a photo of? Just can't get my head around the linkages and spring for the auto choke.
  2. YUP YUP keen for this. Braised eggplant and potato on rice gets me frothing at the bung.
  3. yeah got that manual already.. hmm might just drop into mitsubishi tomorrow and take some photos of the manual.
  4. Could anyone supply me a photo or diagram of the linkages on a 4g63 single carb? Needs to be one with auto-choke setup. I'm a retard and can't work out how to put it back together. thanks!
  5. Me and my dogs and bitches had an amazing weekend - who else's arm is sore from pull starting the uterus bike? Re: music - I think the sound system was brilliant, and I encourage Yowzer to bring it again - good p.a and I didn't mind it while I was in bed (loved when heaps of tool was played at some point) but yeah I was kinda cringing thinking that noise control would be called that morning. Moving the P.A indoors would work at keeping the noise down (for the outside dorms cabins at least) and also there was mention of perhaps next year getting some music gear on the stage and do some band karaoke! But in summary, I have a sweet drivers arm tan now.
  6. Sorry if this is written somewhere else - but what kind of bedding do we need to bring?
  7. Anyone got space for a bike / kick-scooter / dog / missus from palmy to HB? edit: not necessarily all of the above.
  8. Bloody hell there's a lot of these at wilf's. Some really good panels stashed in a van too if you need spares.
  9. Thanks man! Yeah was repainted two years ago apparently. Too bad there's already some rust showing up here and there.. Would have preferred the older model with the quad round headlights, but this one's not that bad looking. Thinking of ways to tart her up a bit more. Definitely need to clean up the wheels a bit, maybe lower a little. Really want to get hold of some nice truck mirrors for it.
  10. pic stolen from lowlancer. Which pipe goes where? Big one is inlet, upside down one is breather? Two on left, one is to carb, one is return. Should have marked them when I pulled them off..
  11. So as per discussion thread, short block has been sourced (thanks fuel), new rings and bearings installed, and THIS weekend it will be getting plonked into the engine bay. Successfully extracted a bunch of snapped bolts using weldy-screwy technique. Made a mess of it, but it was my first time! Here are some photos of new things:
  12. loving it! needs turret mounted machine gun though.
  13. Where would I go to get one of these little vacuum nipples? Managed to break one today. Easy option would be to tap and block the hole, since it's not being used anyway - but wouldn't mind having it there for future vacuum gauge or whatever. Aaalso..... I would like to replace this water tap thing: Where can I get one of these?
  14. oh I see yep seems they've been blocked from the top.
  15. What is this thing next to the sparkplug? Is it some sort of EGR crap? Can't work out where it goes and I don't have a manual for this model. Does anyone have a workshop manual for a 4g63 covering the older carburetted SOHC engines? The one I've got is for '92 models with EFI only.
  16. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH woof
  17. I'm gonna get in before the experts and put my money on yes. Car voltage while running is more around 14v so should be near enough. Maybe try it first with a battery before you strip it?
  18. HA! I got both snapped studs out today - started off trying to drill out, but didn't have high hopes - center punch was off center, manifold bolt was waay to hard to drill. So went with the welding trick, used the mig to build up metal, then welded a nut on top of this. Worked amazingly well! Both came out without a fight. So now I just have to wait till the 8th, and I'll be going back up to Hastings to finish the job. Oh and one thing I forgot to mention was that when we pulled out the old engine, one of the engine mounts fell out. The rubber had seperated from the steel. So will need to get one of those before going back.
  19. oh yeah that reminds me - priming the oil pump. I understood this as filling the oil pump casing with grease (which I have done). Is there more to it? My brother talked about taking the oil relief valve out and filling oil in from that way, but can't see how that would be possible on the 4g63.
  20. What's the dealy with dogs and this camp? My dogs are both good christians and would love to come along and meet everyone.
  21. Drove up to Hastings this Saturday to swap this good block with the fried one. Got the old motor out, head off, but as I went to replace the thermostat - one of the bolts snapped. So I abandoned it, took the old engine home to inspect, and try to get this bolt out. While the heads here, there's also a snapped exhaust manifold bolt stuck in the head. Looks like I've got my work cut out for me!
