Look something like this? Can't find a conventional ceramic surrounded looking resistor but this matches the inner guard location you mentioned. Still going thru dizzy condensor :S -

Help please, Black top 4AGE no spark
My name is Russell replied to My name is Russell's topic in Tech Talk
Yeah I don't think its something I want to try myself getting the lap correct seating etc. Is it likely to have damaged anything else reckon? hopefully it just went down the zorst. piston head has no marks on it at all Have a spare head to pinch one from but might be better to just go new? Be keen to pay a pro to sonic clean it and redo stem seals at the same time. Buckets still sitting in the same positions. -

Cause of 0 compression confirmed. ceramic that fell from spark plug has done the above damage. Is it likely to have done any serious damage under the valve or reckon i should be able to just replace it? will be doing stem seals at the same time. -

Owe you a beer Ben! Had a second hand cap and rotor in stock that looked like it would work no better as the one in it looked new. but sure enough runs now on the corroded stuffed looking one. Now the fun begins, removing the head and pistons and stuff like that. -

Ok cheers bro I will give that a go. -
Hello OS What could cause no spark on a single cylinder? (3) Dizzy cap points look in good condition. Spark plugs are new. Lead has been swapped around and consistently No 3 no spark. About to remove the head to do the valve stem seals and rings but want to fix this problem first. Have zero compression on cylinder 2. So removed lead and injector plug to get home, running on 3 cylinders which was when this problem occurred. Cheers Chris

Legend! One point to the mainland for helpfulness. I wonder much o should get the steels widened? Anyone got any experience? 4x100 is the studd patern from memory? Should probably get a spare set for just encase something goes wrong but can't see anything on the tard. -
The chevette has now done a wedding (My sisters) . . . and still going strong . . . when its not killing condensers. So trying to work out why, why why. I have a new Bosch coil, and the unit the suppliers computer said it required was an external ballast coil. Got it home and I cant see an external ballast resistor unless its hidden in the loom? Anyone able to confirm? I don't really want to install it if its the wrong one so I can return it for the correct one. I will read the manual tonight. and try work out myself but if anyone is a vox nerd drop us a line Have done other stuff too: Re-cored radiator New Dizzy unit from UK Ram-flow air filter Cleaned up SU Carb Replaced Water plump And its running better than ever, when the condensers are not failing. I really should lower it and get steels widened!

Was a real fun ride to n from the event, we took Paekakariki Hill Rd. Keeping up with all the Harley's on the small twisty stuff and pushing them to ride faster was fun. I didn't have a enough powa to pass them out of the corners / pussy. Must have done around 150 kms with all the back roads taken. We all got pulled over once and had cops u turn and tail us another two times. Fun fun fun

Just working out engine and transmission mounts. Anyone got some good articles on getting geometry nailed? and recommended measuring tools? Seen some good articles in the past for gearbox and diff angles but of-course can't find them when needed.
