thanks mate, Glynn?! how do you know him?! I cant attend though unfortunately my clutch is in a very sad state so im trying to fundraise for a replacement clutch assembly and a couple of engine improvements at the same time as i have to pretty much remove the engine to get the gearbox out!

well all of our group made it, 2 punctures later and a broken throttle cable so the twist grip was changed to needle nose vicegrips clamping onto the cable. was some dodgy passing maneuvers and near misses, managed to pass a van on the inside via the slow vehicle bay on a bridge which was close to going very wrong for me haha. great day all round.

that is awesome!!! will be a great story once youve done it! ive got a pretty highly strung suzuki TR50 this time, i put a set of rings in it so im hoping for the best but expecting the worst. at least it only costs about 20bucks worth of petrol to get to hokitika on a scooter haha

exactly! we were on struggle street hung over after too many jugs of old dark at a 21st the night before, and pissing round trying to make C50s run on methanol etc, cleaning carbs out at arthurs pass, and the others were getting free/discounted food and eating it in front of us

HAHAHAHAHA i know what ya mean, but nah we have a support vehicle with spare long blocks, barrels, pistons etc that takes us home because to be honest the guys that organise the event are douchebags that called us the rascals last year because we had busted ass old scooters that we were constantly fixing at every stop whereas they had brand new 200cc triumph ones that do 100k etc. and we are mere tradesmen whereas they are THE air new zealand employees (said with plumb in mouth). so after one day youve kinda had a guts full of them, but as darryl from the castle says, theres nothing better than the sound of a 2 stroke at full noise so that kinda makes up for it haha

i attempted this last year and only got 8km before my old honda nipped up and fisted the bore. but this year i hope this big bore suzuki street magic will last the distance!

when i had my RX3 it failed a wof for exactly the same thing and i was able to get a new nylon (i think it was nylon) bushing for it from mazda off the shelf and just had to take the steering wheel off and slide the new bush into place.

Haha sweet, I'll have to have a look at your beast mate. Thanks its been a while in the making. i try to take it out most weekends when the weathers fine. i dont like driving it in the wet too much.

I spoke to a guy by the name of Dave yesterday whos building a 1200 ute with a turbo A15 and he told me to come back online for an update so Ive had the SSS certified for a few months now, nearly ready to put another tune in it with a little more boost to get some power out of the old girl. Has been eating radiator cores of late which has been an issue but i think ive finally got to the bottom of that issue.
