  1. not a big update really. new heater box thing. Sam gave me a spare one so i took it to bits and replaced all the foam seals, gave it a clean and washed out the heat exchanger. put it in and it made a hell of a difference. the heater works now!! its like a fucking desert with the heater cranking. the other thing i did was buy some new front tyres. was 235/45/17, now 205/40/17. basically the new tyres are 50mm smaller in dia and a bit narrower, no more gard rubbing for me, and the front is a bit lower which is always good. i have some more pics but photobucket is being gay. latter, sheepers.
  2. yea, bushes out of auz are no problem they just take a while to get here. if you need a pitman arm your up shit creek though. no one here has them or brings them in, once again auz is your friend. i got a full set of urathane bushes for the rear of my car for 350ish not to long ago. sheepers.
  3. no, i dipped into the mac's gold box, probably a few more times than i should have.
  4. yea, sweet as. sams got my number, come round to mine and pick them up.
  5. you should probably post that vid up, it will shame me into not drinking so much..... probably not though, it will just shame me. (a very worse for wear) sheepers.
  6. i didnt do the pannel work, it was done by a friend of mine who is a pannel beater. he owned the car before me. it sat in his shed for 13 years before i convinced him to sell it to me.
  7. yep, my bad. i couldnt remember which one came out in the truck.
  8. i LOVE your jag, it is so cool. as soon as i had finished looking at your build thread i went straight to trade me to see if i could buy one! about the toyota gearboxes, dont get confused between the W50 and the W55,W57,W58 boxes. they are completely different. the W50 may just handle the jag if your careful, but the W55etc is a completely different box and will take anything your jag will throw at it all day long. it the W55 range of boxes there are various shifter positions (except the W56,W59 which is out of a light truck) so there will more than likely be one with the shifter in the right spot. i have a W55 behing my 1JZ which dynoed at 180RWKW, no problems with it. hope this helps. sheepers.
  9. the stock wheel sucks arse. its too thin and feels all weird. go for a wooden wheel like the one loceda gave me, it rules. i dont have any pics but its your standard wooden look wheel in a normal (not bus) size. as for the boss kit, RA23, RA28, TA22 or TA23 celica will fit, you need to bolt/glue your indicator canceller thing to the back of the boss but that is a 5min job. latter, sheepers.
  10. how are you getting on with the measurments for the crown? im keen to find out what differences there are. thanks heaps by the way. sheepers
  11. all i remember is the guy i was talking to kept stuffing sausages in his mouth and spitting all over me, then he asked me if i was going to eat the sausage i was standing on, when i said no he ate it. it must have been you.
  12. i was talking to someone at the nats, for some reason i cant quite remember who it was, about the rear sub frame in my 28. heres a few photos, feel free to question my sanity. my wife does. this is the arms at about the correct ride height. i will have about 30mm of travel before the wheel goes into neg camber. i will have to make new A arms to narrow the track by about 35mm per side. origonal mounting points nearly line up with the chassis rail. this space saver is about 620mm in dia which will be about right for a 16x9 wheel. this is the front mount, almost on the rail as well. it'ill be nice and strong when ive finished. didnt have to cut too much out....... this is me hard at work in my old shed. we've moved house and my new shed is much bigger now, YAY!!
  13. yep, i do allot of driving around for work so youll prob see it around. the car is original and its got no rust in it at all but its far from mint, there is not one straight pannel on it....
  14. TBH id rather not talk about it, it was really ghey, no 160kph drift, just bad luck. the car is pretty much ready for pannel and paint now, the bonnet is still not quite right but the rest of it is pretty much ready to go. the body was the last thing that needed doing. it was a bit rough so i guess this gave me the excuse to paint it. i was kind of hoping to get it ready for the nats but i wont have time to do it propperly so ill be bringing the crown. latter, sheepers.
  15. discussion = viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9807&hilit=sheepers this is my other money pit. i built the car in melbourne and bought it back with me when i came back. its running a 1JZ with a W55. it has a comminwhore LSD, coilovers, nolithane and all the other bits. then i decided to bend it. its currently in a million bits. the front has been straightened and ive got most of the bits i need to re-build it. the next stage is to get the paint done then ill put it back together. latter, Sheepers.
  16. this is one of my money pits. i bought it off a friend who had it for 13 years. it will have a 1JZ motor with the usuial bits and pieces. ive put a R32 GTR rear sub frame in it and ill be usint the GTR front brakes. its not black, it dark purple.
  17. yep, that would have been me. the car is slowly getting better, new shocks have made a huge difference, and i got the carb re-built last week. its now using a resonable amount of gas.... starts in the morning to. fixed the heater which will rule come winter. i was over the shore looking at a 1982 crown with a 1uz conversion. unfortunately its not the 1uz which will fit in a MS75 but if you want a ready made crown V8 with fuck all work to do to have a sweet runner you should buy it. its on trade me under lexus V8, i think its listed as "lexus v8 motor". but its all done, diff, gearbox, link computer. its a bit ruff but the hard work is done. latter, sheepers.
  18. Mike-e, i wouldnt mind talking with this guy you know. would be totally keen to see his 1UZ powered celica. are they first gens like this one? the reason i ask is i have two of these and im looking at engine options for the second one. ask him to drop me a line, sheepers@mail.com cheers, sheepers.
  19. sweet!!! so good to see other first gen's in auckland. it looks like your doing stuff propperly which is great, i hope it all comes together for you. i have an RA23 and an RA28. both in a million bits but i work on them just about every day. id be keen to see your car some day. latter, sheepers.
  20. i put a new set of shocks in the car. they cost 290 all up. all monroe GT gas. i cant begin to explain how much better the car is with the new shocks, its completely different!! BUT, best of all is how much more effecent the brakes are. its hard to describe how much better it stops in an "emergency" type slam on the brakes. but if you have old shocks in your car and you like the shape of the front of it, BUY NEW SHOCKS!! end rant. anyway, big difference. slowly the car gets better, i need to make some new ideler arm bushes so i can get a wheel alignment done and that should make it track a bit better. the list goes on...... sheepers.
  21. ive just reco'd the brakes. if you have a MS65 or an MS75 heres a tip. the booster/master cylinder from a MA70/GA70 supra will bolt straight in. it has a 1" bore, so its got a bit more grunt and the booster is smaller and takes up much less room. you need to take the MS off the booster and turn the booster upside down, then put the MS back on the booster. the original booster has and alloy spacer behind it, you dont need this, just take off the old booster and bolt in the new one, you will need to bend your brake lines to suit the new exit points on the MS but its no biggie. you cant get bits for the MS65 MS, but the MA70 is easy to get parts for. the brakes are now like new ( i replaces the seals in the front and put new wheel cylinders in the rear ) they work so well, an absolutely amazing difference. latter, sheepers.
  22. thanks for the coments everybody. im using the crown as my daily driver so youll probably see it around. latter, sheepers.
  23. i stole the whole fuckin gas station! na, i just went down the road to put some air in the tyres after i put them on. latter, sheepers.
  24. yea, about my other cars, i read in the forum rules thats its one thread per person. bit fucking stupid if youve got more than one car, do you reckon i would get away with one thread for each car?
  25. Build Thread //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/20769-sheepers-ms75-toyota-crown-coupe/?p=532526 i thought id better start a responce thread. one with a title that i can find because of the completely retarded way you have to have two threads for each car, so, go ahead and post replys here. latter, sheepers
