  1. true forgot about that ill have a look.cheers dan
  2. yeh and check for any stress makes or ripples in the chassy rails andround the front. just in case its been in a bump.
  3. hi all can anyone draw me a diagram or somthng of how the heater hoses will be in the mk1 witha 2.l in it like on the heater itself (poking threw the firwall) witch 1s in and out and were do they go does one go to carb ? cheers dan
  4. I would be having a good look at the engine crossmember to ensure that it is bolted in centrally to the chassis. Previous damage to to front chassis rail is the other more likely candidate. I don't agree that this is a manufacturing error. Please also take some measurements to ensure that the distance between the front and rear wheels is the same(ish) on both sides of the car. i agree it sounds to me as iff its been in a bump at sometime check how straight the sturts are aswell. i know that these were made a long it shouldnt be 2 bad. just hav a few measure ups on both sides and comper.
  5. nice work mate that manifold is shit hot.
  6. yeh mate this is a crackin build and those wheels look pretty sweet are what your going to run with?
  7. ive got a magizine somewhere witha white mk1 bubbled with similer wheels on it and it looks nice bro....... but in saying that im sticking with16x8.5 on my 2door and 13s on the van.

  11. you would think so A but none on these ones. and hell you recon just cut the rubers of the escort ones drill holes and use the cortina ones? could be a plan that. cheers dan
  12. would the mounts of the mk3 tina fit do you think? the look a hell of lot chunkyer
  13. see there was a 1300 that came with the van i just took the mounts off it but did look to see what was on what side as i thought both were the same but one is shorter. ive just had a look ate the block and id say the shorter 1 (when i say shorter its about 10mm shorter) goes on the drivers side as the mounting points stink out fro the block a bit more (about 100mm more lol) so that must be it. cheers dan
  14. hi all im putting a pinto in my escort and im using escort mounts now one is shorter then the other witch one goes on what side? cheers dan

  19. the reward is the finish when it painted. put the hours in on the prep and finish is mean.
  20. i put a big gash in a sump on my old mk2 gravil bashing it droped it in a ditch and hit a rock. had fuck all to fix it with so i cleaned sump up (on the car) got a plate about the right size loads of sealant about 30 rivits and it was gravil bashing time again i was only 16 at the time thatw as about 102 years ago. dan
  21. If the problem is oil seeping around the bolt thread in the side of the block where there is no oil pressure then $100 says it will be cured with a sealant smeared around the thread. Throwing out a block for such a reason is a bit extreme i agree 100% clean it up, loads of sealant on the thred in the hole and loads on the thred itself then wait till its just about to go off and tightin the sucker that will do it.
