  1. Buy a non turbo starion/sigma or even better a 1800gsr rear end and its all pretty much a direct fit.
  2. Hey Caboon mate., Would i be able to get a copy of the two diagrams aswell. Just need to know which wire does what @ the back of the cluster as im trying to the same as ke36. Thanks.
  3. I was thinking of the ajax powder trick. Buy the stuff from supermarkets for about $3 bucks. Warm engine up then hold it @ around 5 to 6000 rpm & drop a couple of table spoon fulls into the intake. The grit in the powder scuffs up the bores & rings & will remove any glazing & the rings may start to seal better after this is done. I noticed results by the lessened amount of exhaust smoke straight away. Remember to change the oil & filter straight away as you dont want this crap in your oil. ( i didnt do this in my vr4 engine by the way)
  4. Its mint to use with the cable clutch. Pressure plate came fron the local clutch shop & i had the clutch plate made by auto clutch in auks. The plate is 10mm smaller in diameter than a evo/vr4 this is so that it will fit between the sigma flywheel & p plate
  5. Sigma gsr fwd flywheel which has spigot bearing hole already in it. Sigma gsr fwd heavyduty pressure plate. L 200/ rwd sigma 115mm dia 4 puck button clutch plate L 200/ rwd sigma release brg. This all bolts straight up & is nice to drive even with button plate.
  6. Mitsis Dont like re builds. Ive found that most of them smoke after a re ring. The best way to cure this is to re bore & fit new pistons & rings. Most engine reconditioners will tell you this. There is a very rangi way of kinda curing the problem but its results can be either good or bad. Let me know if you want to know about it.
  7. No i dont. My mate has some pic of it with the tarmacs tho. Will get onto it when i can.
  8. The best/cheapest way is to carefully dismantle them & have the shafts shortened or buy inserts & have them shortened.
  9. I rekn you should raise it up, weld up the rear diff (if its not a lsd) & go bush. these things rule off road.
  10. Thats cool man. Before i built my blue ex, i had a gold/brown one with a 12valve dash intercooled motor b4 swapping to a vr4 motor. Was sooo much fun sittn @ the lights beside a car load of fellas in a scooby or evo & watching them laugh @ u in "nanas" car, then watching their laughs disappear as you blast past them.
  11. Mint. Thanks. I dont want 2 give away all the secrets, But oh well.In the front im using starion struts, rotors & calipers. Rear is vented starion discs & calipers. Gsr master cylinder(same as starion but off a gsr) & gsr booster.
  12. Hey man. What r the sizes of ur intercooler?

Wicked, That means that i have more parts 4 my vr4 engine than i thought.

But what about 12v fwd narrow?

Is the 12v dash block the same as vr4?
  16. No thanks on the parts car. Got 3 already. Tho, If its a GSR lancer, ill be round in 5. Manifold looks even better on the car.
  17. Manifold is made to fit a evo/vr4 with T3 flange with turbo in nearly the factory position . Ive just turned it upside down by using a adapter between the manifold and the head. Ill try 2 get some pics of the setup on the car sometime.
  18. Dnt know what the go is now. Id say nufn as the guy did it as a homer. I off to 4& rotor jamboree in brisbane in a cupl of wks so will see if i can find a turbo over there. Car flew thru cert, Didnt even have to have anythn rechecked, Got brakes, diff, suspension, seats, wheels & spacers all certd. They look for anythn that they can pick on.
  19. Those louvers look cool. Good to see that things are coming along nicely. I had a turbo failure on mine thanks to my nice bling oil feed. I got a new 1 made by a hydraulic shop, They assured me that it wouldnt be too restrictive. They were wrong. Result = 1 dicked turbo. (beyond repair) Finally got car fully certed so, FDP.
  20. Theres not much room for that fan a. Howd you get on with spigot bearing?
  21. Yep a fan is definately needed. I have mine set to 86 degrees which is controlled thru the ecu and i find that it comes on, on hot days while idling around town etc and when its on turbo timer.
  22. Yep. Using a RS legacy fan as they are reasonably thin and fit in the gap well. It heats up if it goes round in circles for too long otherwise its really good. Im using a 1800gsr radiator as they are bigger than a standard 1.
  23. Oh ok. If you use a L200 flywheel you wont have to do any of that. Then use a gsr skidma fwd heavy duty pressure plate with a L200 215mm clutch plate. I got a 4 puck brass button clutch plate made by autoclutch in auckland as i found that a standard organic clutch kept slipping. If you use the vr4 flywheel you will have to get the centre machined out to allow for a spigot bearing to be pushed in to support the end of the input shaft of the gearbox. Just something 4 you to think about.
