  1. USB unplugged, down it went. Have unplugged the cable from the screen, I await the dark magic hour of 4pm tomorrow.
  2. I do have some ferrites lying around somewhere. I might just do away with it as the the USB on the projector does not reliably switch off, I put it into standby mode rather than full shutdown and sometimes it does not switch off that port. Or use the port on the pc that i stopped using cos I thought that was what was causing it. I fully shut that down and the back ones are not always on like the fronts. I have left it unplugged out of the projector so i will see what happens today. Perplexing.
  3. Trigger voltage is 5 to 12v, so realistically 3 or 4v IRL maybe?
  4. Im going to try unplugging the cable first from the usb then from the screen, if it still does unplugged from the usb but does not do it unplugged from the screen I will assume that it is the power cable. I can probably just move the trigger cable to another route if thats the case.
  5. I bought a new projector screen cos the old one was too shit to use with the new ultra short throw projector I have. It has a 5v trigger so I made a cable to suit that plugs into a usb port on the projector or the little pc that runs it. This is good as the screen comes down when the projector cranks up, however weirdly at around 4pm every day the screen decides to descend of it own accord. This has happened both while plugged into the pc and the projector. The only thing I can think of is that the power feed to the house is running under the floor just there and that the trigger cable is lying on the floor above it and in line with it for maybe 2m. Would the ripple control in the power line be enough to induce a 5v signal in the wire? Its the only reasonable explanation apart from a burst of IR light coming from somewhere at 4pm every day....
  6. Thats what the fuel screw is for.
  7. Try the limibashing first, might not need to change the plugs if it goes well.
  8. Half an hour of limibashing will have the same effect
  9. Dunno, changed the plugs and it stopped using oil. Either typical toyota self healing behavior or our lord and saviour hast bestowed a miracle upon his unworthy servant or some shit.
  10. Ha thats basically us, that wish has done 260k and was a bit missy and burned a bit of oil, new plugs and all of that has cleared up.
  11. No problem. They are a big unit.
  12. Same same, starter wiring, single wire to the fuel cut off. Plus peripheral stuff like glow plugs and associated relays. Also I have a good short block here if you can find a head and ancilliaries, but I guess a complete engine would be better.
  13. That would definitely be a regret. I do have a superstrat type thing that I made a long time ago out of a Rimu mantelpiece that has a neck I got from guitarparts.co.nz. That theoretically should fit, but it works pretty well as a guitar so I dont really want to pull it apart for no reason. I am thinking about making a resonator so might end up ordering a bucketload of stuff from Stewmac, we will see what the total looks like before adding necks to the basket.
  14. Thats it, it has the belly contour as well, should be comfy. It is 1.5mm thinner than a standard strat though, due to some dumbshittery on my part. Shouldn't be a problem though. I have been looking at making a neck on the router as well, however it is a step up in complication in some ways. Although that body needed 15 different operations to get to that stage not including facing off the wood. But a neck needs a truss rod and frets etc, plus probably some specialised tools. I will probably give it a go though.
  15. Also to complete a trifecta of side projects, I thought I'd have another go at a guitar body, which I just finished up tonight. This has been done with the benefit of some accuracy improvements to the router and now knowing a shitload more about hsmworks programming. Thats a single big slab of macrocarpa, it has come up real nice. Still a wee bit of misalignment from when it gets flipped over. But it is only about 0.1mm, that will buff out easy as.
  16. We did the spark plugs on our 1zz recently, made all the difference.
  17. Second I made another version of the stainless steel aeropress, this one should actually work when I try it out tomorrow morning. Its actually a bit taller than a standard one so I can make more coffee and spaz out just that bit more than I usually do.
  18. I did a couple of side projects while waiting for stuff for the caravan build, the first being a guitar kit from an outfit in the states called Stewmac, they do a shitload of musical related bits of generally high quality; Tbh it was pretty piss easy to put together, I did it in 3 nights. I had been looking for a guitar of this type for a while and when i saw the kit and the price I thought I may as well go for it. It has clear briwax on it but probably needs another coat. I have not really set it up properly yet, but i need some better strings and a free evening. Still it actually plays pretty nice, although i may reshape the neck profile a bit. It was fun.
  19. You would know a bit about rough trade eh
  20. The Metabo grinder in my previous set is still sweet, but I go corded for anything serious for sure. Been using the red boys a bit this week, they go hard. 80mm hole saw into 3mm steel makes for a fun time lols.
  21. I have not installed the turbo yet, i can measure it. I think i still have a spare housing from the currently installed turbo, i can measure.
  22. Too many Milwaukee recommendations, here and elsewhere. There was mention of that, I normally wouldn't let a rep have my my number but an extra battery never goes amiss. Plus I imagine there is more to buy.
