  1. Swing by and pick me up on the way bro!
  2. That'll do it! Seems to more than keep up with the engine, once the weather clears I'll get into tuning it properly. Stopped in at Honda in Huntly on Saturday, the Huntly Gyro is fucked as!! That's the main structural point of the frame. What remains of the engine is seized solid, every panel is smashed, brake cables have been cut at the rear wheels and it's just a mess. I still kind of want it though... Even if it's just for 2 cables swingarm case and a couple bits for Greg's.
  3. I really really want that one/an Up in general!! The fucked one is a Canopy that was spitting it's own piston out the exhaust pipe in dust form 2 will fit in my trailer no worries, there about the same width as @MopedNZ's Lead "50" and it squeezed on just fine with Plan B from the drags. And 2 2 wheelers fit in my van fine, but I'm wanting to make a mount to hold them in, got sick of trying to strap them back down all the time!
  4. I'll likely have Plan B going spare for someone to ride, just need to work out what scooters I'm going to be able to bring up. We'll likely be on our Suzuki's again, should fit 2 Gyros on the trailer.
  5. KEEN!!!!!!!!!!! /Better get fixing some scooters and saving some $$.
  6. Do it! I could be tempted to come and pest around down there depending when you guys do it. Also I was kind enough to put your rego on hold for you bro. Also also fuck bees!!
  7. Fuck what an epic day, so awesome!! Bring on the next one! Kinda bummed that poor abused Gyro isn't in my trailer though lol
  8. Meet "Plan B" Genuine 1/4 mile racer! 32 @ 32 haha
  9. So I now know that a stock Gyro fuel pump isn't up to the task of feeding my engine. Bugger. Also 80k on a Gyro feels so damn fast haha! 80k then the engine cutting out hard as the float bowl empties isn't fun.
  10. Thanks guys! I've put a lot of time and work into this thing, feels good to actually complete a project for once (well complete this stage of it at least, will it ever be finished...?) Audio sucks I know, but I wanted to get the actual first start and didn't want to wait for the Mrs to get home to record it with her phone which has the better camera Sounds ANGRY in person! Swingarm pivot has decided it doesn't want to lock any more so engine back out tomorrow to see if I can sort it. Also got @64vauxhall's going properly tonight, so all going well I'll take them both out tomorrow night and start running them in and jetting them.
  11. Plenty of room to load an arm chair in the back now though...
  12. Should get it mounted up after work tomorrow, first start vid to come!
  13. New post as it was getting pic heavy This arvo I shot down to my old work and made use of the press And well it'd be rude not to take full advantage of the tools on hand! Ended up taking .81mm off, should give it a good bump in compression! Fired up the BBQ And let the crank chill in some dry ice A lot of people seem to think the parking lock pulls the rear brake on on a Gyro, it actually locks out the input shaft in the gear set Yeah I know that head is nasty looking, but it will be covered with the shrouds New clutch and bell are high on my wish list!! And maybe a 26mm PWK and big intake... And that's where I'm at, all the kick start bits are soaking in petrol overnight, need to get a plug for it, fit the modified oil pump and carb etc then swap it into my frame. Should be a bit of fun compared to the sluggish engine that's in there now!
  14. Ok back to the Green one! Last week I took my cases into the powder coaters last week Was told with the amount of masking involved if I wanted they could acid dip them all and I could then take all the bits home to mask up myself and drop it all back, so that's what I did. Dropped them in Friday last week. Saturday morning I got a very well packaged chocolate fish from @Vintage Grumble Looking further into the package I found he's included a few bearings and seals etc too, 15minutes later a second courier arrived with a package from Japan! Late on the Saturday of the EastCapeEscapades while finishing off @64vauxhall's bourbons I ordered an uprated crank, so I pretty much had everything I needed to build a new engine My cases were ready to pick up from powder coating this AM I reckon it looks the part! Same silver as my front wheel Opened up the exhaust port on my new cylinder, also widened it a few mm And cut the skirt to match the case ports, it was fairly nerve racking to bring myself to make the first angle grinder cut on a brand new Malossi cylinder! But it's for the best!! It originally covered a large amount of that port!
  15. I'm back to waiting for a couple bits for my Green one, so have been mucking around with Greg's New top end Knocked up a pipe from scrap I had sitting about, nothing flash but WAY better flow than the box muffler it had Set the apprentice loose on the jetting Where he quickly discovered that it had an earlier spec carb and we don't have jets for it, not to mention it has a tiny throat with a very restrictive manifold to match. I had a spare Canopy/Dio spec manifold but no complete carbs, did enough to get it to fire up but yeah needs a carb which @BLIZZO happened to have a spare of so it should be all go Tuesday! Since I was out of things to do on these 2 I decided to add yet another pile of work to my list and try to make something out of the pile of bits from the corner of my shed
  16. I NEED TO SAVE IT!!!!! Latest parcel has just been cleared to depart Japan, so I need to pull finger and get my cases ported and cleaned up ASAP! Took the step panel into the painters this AM, he gave it a blow with the air gun, less than 2 minutes later it was 90% white again, he's very confident they will be able to sort it out and I'll have it back before the week is over, fingers firmly crossed! Took the wide rears around 5 different tyre shops until I finally found 1 that could/would balance them He had to put every adapter cone they had on so the T handle cleared the dish 50g on one, 15g on the other, Chinese tyres leave a lot to be desired if I'm honest, trying to get my hands on some Kenda rubber somehow. /couple more burnouts might round them out haha Wasn't going to post that here/anywhere really/it's mostly on private property/closed road/crafty video editing/ummm sorry officer? Spent a few hours tinkering with Greg's this evening, then roughed out the ports on my cases, going to match the cylinder to the cases tomorrow if I get time. Still a bit of cleaning up to do, but I've taken a lot of alloy out getting rid of a fair few restrictive bits. And pulled my diff bearings I'd drilled a seat into the bolt head so it pulled straight, was just loose while taking the pic. Greg's turned out to be a bit worse than the slightly lean issue we'd first thought I see no sign of it running lean, so I'm confident in saying that the seizing was the bits of clip jamming between the piston and the cylinder wall, not a It will live again soon!!
  17. Yeap, it hung around in the crankcase after it finished destroying the piston and cylinder too. Greg's lucky it seems to Have kept out of the bearings at least so the bottom end is all good to go again. Not seeing any signs it was running lean either, so I don't think it was soft seizing like the initial call, rather the clip was jamming things up.
  18. Ready for bead blasting or maybe paint/powder coating?? Picked up my WeBike order from the post office Not pictured, but I spent an hour with the dremal porting out the intake manifold, although I'm now having bad thoughts about a big intake and OKO/PWK carb... Couple before pics of the case ports Fair bit of room for improvement there! Should be able to gain some free HP with just a bit of dremal work Stripped an oil pump, have been shown how to mod it to give 1.6x output to suit the bigger cylinder so I'm going to give it a go. Lol it looks like it was never finished now!! Lets see if I can get it all back together AND swap out or depending on the outcome of a possible hub issue rebuild Greg's engine intime for the Mount ride!
  19. Looks really silly with the wheelbarrow spec wheels now! Am trying to track down a nasty vibration, changing wheels helped a LOT but I think there's something off balance in the CVT area buzzing a bit. Am carefully stripping all the plastics and stuff back off to get the step/floor into the painters ASAP as I have yet again ended up with a 2 week dead line to get it finished again, but this time I have got 2 to sort out as I've taken on fixing up another one "Yeah mate, there still good engines, just need to clean the kick start parts and put a belt on it" Besides everything being filthy and any bearings that aren't seized are dry and noisy sounding it all looks like it is in perfect condition, so that's a plus! I'm pretty sure I ordered all the odd size bearings and seals that Honda used in these in my latest Japan order, so hopefully @Vintage Grumble can get hold of the others easy enough.
  20. Want to investigate for me? Could help myself and another OS Gyro owner a lot to have some spares kicking about!
  21. After a fuel/pie stop just out of Gisborne we headed out to Rere falls, @MopedNZ had a bit of an incident along the way, but I'll let him tell the tale of that later on. Then headed 2k up the road to Rere rockslide where an old abandoned air mattress was recovered... Majestic! Sadly I had to leave the ride at this point and head home, was super tempted to keep riding with the guys but coming back alone sucked enough from where we ended up lol Can't wait for Mount ride!
  22. Took the 110 Hondas riding 3 wide to slow down the old 68cc Suzuki haha Fingers crossed my dodgy AF fab work on your pipe holds out @MopedNZ!! East Coast Customs spec haha
