  1. yea that is confusing, like i had 215/50/13 BFG's a while ago which are pretty much the same as eagers, and they are much much smaller in diameter then the standy 155/80/13's. would have been looking at a 1 inch drop nearly...
  2. also lighten the flywheel, and a bit of head work will work well with those mods and you'll get a nice increase in torque and response. then you'll be flying
  3. sorry all. burnouts are cancelled. this is due to the owner of U-drive being a homo and deciding to charge extra. as you can imagine the organiser was very pissed off and this resulted in argueing. this argueing resulted in the U-drive owner calling him names which is not on. any way fair enough on the organisers half... the guys is a dick. thats hawkes bay for ya...
  4. 30 is plenty. especially when you think about the fact that all of them have the potential to put on a massive show that could last for minutes. we've all seen that happen before. lol also its not 30 cars including 4 vans, a few $50 cars that wont have a warrent or reg or anything. most of the cars will be very good. iv seen the entry book but i wont say anything more.... cant wait!
  5. this is a completely different burnout comp. organised by the head of rota havoc. there should be about 30 or so cars there, massive prizes. i know for a fact that its not just a turn up and enter, you have to pre book , and they have already have close to 30 entries and are hoping for a few more. saw 6 rotas in napier today aswell actually. my spidie senses are tingling....
  6. was talking to the founder of 'Rota Havoc' - the man thats putting on the whole event, he works in the shop in napier: 'Movement'. any way this is what he told me... there is 21 guys from hawkes bay entering there cars. 3 guys with cars on trailors coming from tauranga (i think) and 5 guys coming from auckland with cars on trailors and spare engines. he mentioned a t bucket with a 20b supercharged, but not sure if its entering or just one of his mates that owns it. we should see some mad burnout hackers there that do the rounds of burnout comps... thrash their car till the motor blows, chuck in the spare stz. also maybe a bit of 20b action and depending on the turnout, a NA and turbo class. gates open at 9, first burnouts are at 10 and burnouts all day long. prob gona go till around 3 or 4 but if the turnout is good, could go past 5. as for prizes... theres a $4500 turbo kit for your rotary engine, momo's giving away steering wheels etc, $1000 cash prize or voucher (cant remember) and tonys tyre service is giving away some tyres or something. should be awsome, and hope to see you all there!
  7. yea i agree i think that looks nice as.
  8. any pumping/flareing/lipping at all? im guessing the front springs are 2inch lowering springs, so with a 3inch drop at the back is it even? the back is usually higher than the front isnt it?
  9. ok ok..... ahem.... my escort (mk2) had 13x7 hotwires with 205/60 tyres and lowerd 1.5 inchs with block at rear and barely ever rubbed except when had a car load of mates in, roadtrip etc. all i did was lip the rear guards with a hammer/mallet thing so didnt do any damage, and that brought the guard out about an inch or so just like that! sooooooo the tyres would clear the guard untill they came up to the top nearlly (see meths diagram(sweet diagram meths you should save that for future)). since then they have beem pumped substantually, (spelling?) front and rear and plan on running 17's and dropping it 2 inchs with dobi super lows and reset 2 or 2.5 inchs in back with extra leaf added (maybe 2 but not sure, havent looked into this yet). my panalbeater reconed it should be able to do this no worrys after i told him what i was running previously.
  10. not really. that kind of defies the point in having a national class. it wasnt a classic rally. i doubt many guys that run old classics etc would be very keen to fork out $1000 entry fee...
  11. did you see that datto coupe? was fucken mean with the rotary in it. had no idea it was running one.
  12. my god..... i heard that rx7 last night when we were parked up in countdown... could honestly hear it for about 45-60 seconds after it passed us. was so incredibly loud, i nearly shed a tear. was the best sounding rotary engine iv ever heard. was neil allports old car in the late 80's and its great to see it still around. i think it might have been in a performance car magazine a while ago??
  13. yea my mate got his cage done in hisdrift car there. about same pricing as above and its very well done. also for those of you who read performance car magazine, in the "race" issue this month, the blue s13 v8 twin turbo, Boyd did the conversion i think. i recommend him highly. as for suspention/engine upgrades, as long as you keep things open for plenty of further modifications and development, keep a simple package( a good reliable engine) and you cant go wrong. my advice is to make sure you keep in mind future development so you dont do things twice, and this way you will save money. my 2c
  14. apparently theres a lot of guys and girls coming to the bay on saturday for the drag train saturday night, from auckland, welly, taupo etc. might make the place a bit more interesting!!
  15. well i have some peice of random paper here with the list of the feild on it. 68 cars all up. the sprinter and the group b rx7 are both in the "classic" class.
  16. keen 2 meet up. i got some peice of paper in front of me but dont no wots its called lol. a few cars that are cool: group B rx7-robert murray toyota sprinter- keith frankum rx3-euan fuge nissan sumo estate and many others. well that was a useless peice of info but i dont care . SS 9,10,11,12 will be the closest stages without going into the mohaka forest, and are not too far from the coast etc. chur
  17. true true. but theres more to those cars then you can tell from looking under the bonnet. unless you are very nosey or have a chat to the owner no gwava stage this year which sucks (as far as i know).
  18. yea fully, fuck my mates system pisses me off. done cheaply my previous owner. unless u get it done realy well so it looks great and works well, get it done by remote. i would personally get a nice button or something thats flush with the panal, to stay away from all that solenoid stuff. that, and i dont want people thinking im lazy
  19. whats so good about the start? never been there before. i guess its a chance to have a look at the cars etc...
  20. its definitely legal, my mate has his 323 bugeye shaven and remote central locking etc. but has these stupid knob things that you have pull upwards which is realy gay. he didnt have to get the cert but the previous owner may have allready got it. he got the alarm system and remote central locking installed etc, didnt cost much.
  21. what are they in??? what shocks?
  22. could do... but im going to see the gwavas forest stage. pick of the lot etc.
  23. i dont think a tyre place will, but they will at the allignment place tho. make sure you tell them exactly what you want doe so they dont go assuming things. i took mine into a place and the bloody guy took off camber on the right just because " it will wear out more quickly due to the camber of the road..." who gives a fuck about that! its still well under 1 degree on both sides! il be looking at doing something like what you've done, on my escort, turn them into coil overs etc. rock some mad negative camber and ride height etc.
  24. definitly keen for the HB round. do they have all the info in this months classic car mag? i.e. stage routes, times etc
