  1. My avenger has a blowed up engine so I will be bringing the Charger
  2. Great shots. Good to see you are getting some early practice with the 70-200mm 2.8L You probably won't want to give it back. Cedric is looking sweet.
  3. The big tank is all installed and ready to rock. Breather and sender etc Sump and fuel line Fuel Safe filler (It says Racing on it so that adds at least 5hp) Fuel gauge is mounted in the glovebox below the stereo.
  4. Hi guys. It's been a long time between updates. Been out heaps enjoying the Avenger. I have just been working on one of the final mods which will be ready in time for my annual trip down to the South Island. As the Avenger has a pretty tiny tank, I figured it would be nice to make a bigger tank to put in the boot. Here are some CAD shots of the design. It works out to just over 75L before we put in the fuel cell foam . And here is it once it has been fabricated. It sits on a custom built frame and also has a sump and pick on the bottom.
  5. Damn it! I got another speeding ticket on the way to the north shore meetup. The cops are picking on the poor little Avenger, at least it was only 65k in 50k zone.
  6. So where is the meet up this month? Does anyone want to drive my Charger along to the meet?
  7. Yeah there is heavy roadworks between Wiarau road and Smales farm. They have got it down to one narrow lane so best to be avoided for wide cars. BTW if any of you don't have an oldschool car to drive, I am looking for someone to drive my Charger so I can take the Avenger. I only live like 5 minutes from the show so if someone wants to drive the Charger they could meet me at my place then we could cruise to the meet up together. Needs to be over 25 for insurance purposes.
  8. That was my first thought also once I saw how big the engine and gearbox is combined. I will probably have to do some sort of remote shifter. I would love to have it all exposed like the Pagani Huayra
  9. Hi guys. A quick update. I have got the 3.9:1 hilux diff head to complete the rear end. I have also continued to strip the V8 and install the new transmission. and like the last scene from the movie "Seven", a head in a box.
  10. I'll be there. I'm rocking the Charger this month.
  11. Yup, it was North Shore Toyota I got mine off. They used to have them on trademe for $3,500 but they don't have any listed, I think I got the last Here is the last listings http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/toyota/gear-boxes/auction-604139587.htm Seller Comment: Please not these remote shift boxes are not in stock at this time and point. Cheers 8:36 pm, Wed 19 Jun
  12. Thanks, I got the gearbox direct from Toyota.
  13. I saw that this morning. Was just about to send you an email.
  14. Yeah I like the ones in the first photo, maybe not as curvy, I really want it to match that swage line along the rear 1/4 because that is what gives the Avenger it's look. They are cool but as you said, I already have sick bolt on flares on the panther, so with this one I want to go for a different look with the box flares vs the bolt on ones. This one will be sicker but a wide body, box flare sort of sicker. I want to give it the super touring car look, like the ones Karl has been posting or like a wide body DTM race car.
  15. Thanks. Yeah it has come a long way from the original idea of just dropping a Rover V8 in it. It should be a properly awesome car when I am done.
  16. Another update. Brought a brand new Toyota R154 5 speed gearbox. And an A1 Turbo 1UZ to R154 bell housing.
  17. Thanks, yup it will be good to get rid of the leaky old Chrysler engine. I hope to bring it down to the South Island for MoPars in the south in 2014, this year it is in Ashburton and I will be bringing the '75 Avenger again so make sure you pop in and say hi. Not sure where it will be in 2014 but hopefully it will be far enough south that we can catch up. It think it looks better with it's front spoiler on, and I think it looked better in the cardboard mock up stage, probably a bit over the top for the Avenger, I want to see if I can work it in with the lines over the back wheels of the Avenger. Here are some other pics of that RX3 http://mitchellracextreme.typepad.com/.a/6a00e553cbcbf988340147e3161320970b-pi http://mitchellracextreme.typepad.com/.a/6a00e553cbcbf988340133f1fa1312970b-pi
  18. Awesome! Thanks heaps. I really like the flares on this Sierra and the other ones on that forum. I totally think we are on the right track, keep the ideas coming
  19. Another update. Started stripping the V8 Brought my Hilux housing, it is about 100mm wider than the Avenger diff so it will help with the wide body mods. I tracked down a 3.9 diff head which I will get next weekend.
  20. Yes! exactly those kind of flares. Anymore pics of that car?
  21. Latest purchase. LSD unit for a hilux diff. Next up is to measure the Avenger diff and buy a similar length diff. The hard part is going to be finding the right ratio diff head, I am after a 3.7:1 so if anyone knows of one for sale then let me know.
