    BDA vs 4age

wheels on my 67GT are Ward Minilites
  10. wow theres a few guys here with mk2's now, great stuff, so by the look of your pics you are restoring the white one that was originally an auto? and the blue one is a 1600 super donor car?, the white one looks like it has a nice lean interior and quite a reasonable body... i have a 1600 super auto that i cruise around in myself, and have a mk2 wagon that im going to start restoring one day... pics of the wagon: http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=5683
  11. i will try and be there either in the mk1 or mk2.. depends whitch one i get going first...
  12. Ok, this has now been chaned to the 10th of december, the cortina club BBQ is also on the same day...
  13. man you havent had that thing for ages... found out that the event may have been changed to the 10th december that is the same day as the cortina club bbq... will keep you all posted...
  14. bet ya my 1500 with sideyz will go alot better than ur 1600
  15. are you running a slightly worked engine? my cortina is and i was going thru a set of plugs every 3 months, i changed the plugs from the NGK XXX6e to the XXX5e (cant remember exact numbers) the 5e is a hotter plug so burns fuel better in a worked engine or something... thats what worked for me
  16. if it is a geniune 1500gt cortina it should go pretty well. mine has a stage2 cam, standard 28/36 carby factory flows slightly modified exhaust and will go 100mph no problems at all. a nice original gt is worth about 6-12k for a really mint original one so thats also something to consider, other things if you are going to make it a daily electronic ignition, put an oil filler breather and a ramflow on the carby, 1500's dont breath very well but if you do little things like that it all helps. dont do anything drastic like change the engine unless its stuffed got any pics of this beast and where are you located, i have a couple of mk2 gt's if you have any questions....
  17. Ohuria Domain (think thats how its spelt) on marshlands road.... from 10am... i will be there in the mk1 corty.... see you all there
  18. Its that time of year again where i go crazy and buy more cortina's, i have just purchased this, its a 64mk1 with 81,000 miles, i am the third owner.... mmmm side drafts..... has been worked, when i got it it was column shift, i have converted it to floor change, an anglia gearbox donated its selectors... have since had the back seat re covered in black and am going to put mk2 gt bucket seats in there too.... i also have a GT 3 dial dash to go in one day too..... enjoy...
  19. you will probably just have to use a trolley jack to push the wishbone/spring back into place, i just did the bottom arm bushes on my mk5 and that is the easiest way by far.
  20. i just did the steering rack in my mk5 cortina, big improvement, one of my padock basher mk5 cortina's (dont worry its beyond repair) has that same problem (noisy back end). the fix is to replace all the bushes on the top and bottom arms, and just make sure everything is nice and tight. out of the few mk5 cortina i have none of them lean to one side... must be a north island thing , or just worn out shokies and/or springs.

    gt tacho

you can come have a look at my gt this weekend if you like, the under bonnet wire is brown i know that much, as long as you have a GT engine bay loom.
  22. im off to timaru (to get another cortina ) so i wont be able to make it sorry.
  23. one of my mk2s (a white super) that now lives in wellington had little knerls that went over the spline that screwed on, they are really crappy cos they are made out of really soft metal and the bolts on them strip, last one i got came from repco, cost me $15 i think. otherwise if you got access to some bits and pieces change over to the early type that has the knerls built into the wiper assembly. $15 + Pnp if ya want one..... the knerl on there already is probably stuck in the end of the wiper arm.. or has gone for a walk....
