    when the tina was 4 speed, i would do 2750~rpm at 100 in 4th, in 5th gear now im doing 2300~rpm at 100. standard 2L diff 3.75 ratio, 205/60/13 tyres. i have a aussie 6 cortina diff going in soon, with a falcon 3.45 lsd, i think that at 100 in 5th with this ratio, my rpm will drop to about 2000? is that right? lower the ratio, less accel down low, more speed top end?

    i wouldnt reccommend using a rust killer/converter, id grind/cut all the disease out, then bog/weld as required, that way its never going to come back.

    but xa-xd parts are probably less common? theres heaps of xf diffs around but i dont think they fit.

    nah, my standard 2L nz diff which is in the car atm is 3.75 ratio. im takin the diff out of a aussie cortina i just picked up which has all the 6cly running gear, i think im only looking for an lsd diff head from a xa-xd falcon with a ratio of 3.2? or higher?? was thinking maybe the head out of this one: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=65209263 ???

    the housing is a borgwarner, bolts straight into a cortina, but has the same guts in it as a falcon as this cortina came out with the falcon 6cly in it factory.
  9. its probably way easier to mould one onto the body of your car, i gave it a go on my mk5. its one off a late 80s galant, i glued, screwed then glassed to the car and i reckon it turned out alright and is nice and strong

    so basically, ive just got the larger borg warner diff from a aussie 6cly cortina, and now on the lookout for a falcon lsd to bolt into it. what ratios are there and what would be the best for my 2L running a 5spd sierra, the ratio i have now is 3.75 which is standard. theres one on tm, its a 3.23, would that be suitable?? or anyone got a lsd diffhead for sale etc? any help appreciated, i think i read somewhere that any diffhead from xa-xd falcons will fit, this true?

    when im feeling poor, i mix 10L of 95 + 10L of 91 = 20L of 93 nah, but just recently tried some 91 in the tina, man it runs like a sack of shit. what is required to run 91 on a car tuned for 96? just retard the timing a lil aye?
  12. i think the sticky "general tuning guide" has different info in it, for example it doesnt have valve train geometry in it etc, maybe add this info to that thread?

  15. haha, well you lend me the tig welder and alloy tubing etc then i will im a newb when it comes to efi and whats required, i want something bolt on haha. but yeh im on the look out for a manifold to get modified, any ideas on a good efi manifold for starters?

  20. gf has 7"hotties with 205s all round on her mk1, they get eaten up hard, and it isnt even low haha.
  21. yeh, something similar, but different, on mk3-4-5 cortinas, the passenger side always sits approx 1cm lower than the drivers side, even king springs etc have seperate L and R springs with one being shorter, which still makes it sit lop sided, its weird and freckin annoying. its like that on every cortina ive ever checked it for.
  22. why are you guys getting so fucking defensive? we all know you cant stop theives but theres shit you can do/have which puts them off. for example, they always go for the locks first, they fuck the lock with a screwdriver, and bend the door metal around the lock aswell as fucking your paint, failing access to your car that way, they go for a small window, if you dont have one then they go to big window, then they go for the lock knob, if you dont have one, then they gotta mess around reaching in the car or climbing in, it all puts them off, im not giving you a thieve proof answer ffs.
  23. mk5 cortina = pwnts them hard, no small windows to smash like most cars do and no lock knobs ftw = them screwed unless they have alarm remote. oh and atm, my door handle is ftl, so hard to open, that if you didnt know how to do it properly, youd think it was locked. tricking thieves ftw haha. my headdeck = locked away in the glvoebox FTW. my car is ftw, cantinas will be too if he shaves all that he can. belive it or not but large windows are easily smashed too why is it that theives always go for the small ones then? the reason is the sound of smashing a larger window is much greater than a little quarter window, hence why they like little corner windows.

  25. shave the boot ftw, also the door locks, if they are seperate from the handle. my last car, locks and paint got raped. my current car + no locks = mint paint and thieves are pwnt. central locking ftw
