  1. Just remembered I never showed the roof tent in action so: Sweet as. Nice and dry. It's a two bedroom, one on top, one underneth in the back with the seats folded down. Could sleep 4 semi-comfortably. Stoked with how it turned out. Just used the strops that tied the boards and junk down to it while driving, to keep the pressure on the tarp while parked up, it worked out a treat. No outside shots though, gutts. The roof line of the tents a bit low, kept smacking my head when I woke up and sat up, not cool. So am going to have to make it adjustable, But have to remake the C bar after not clearing our portch roof anyways so no biggy.
  2. Oh yah, I have 3x 14" stainless rings that were on the old rims if any proper O/S members want them.
  3. So have been driving around on my new Prostars with the ballon tyres they came with and they've been rubbing all over the show, which hasn't been the best. So went and got my new/old tyres on my old rims (185/14's) stretched onto the 'stars and that solved the problem + look 1,00000x betterer. Win! Also replaced the smashed window with another one. Been a good day. And here's what they look like. (they need a clean) Offset at the front is perfect. Might get some spacers for the rear just to stick them out a tiny bit so they match the front: Mini stretch: Now IMO, that is not really stretched, but you wouldn't believe the number of tyre shops who weren't keen to even try fitting them!! It only had 205's on it before, so 185's aren't too much of a stretch (full pun intended, I'm so witty). But anywho, tyremaster on Hewlits Rd gave it a go and there was no problems. Props to them. Also had some problems with the tumblers going in the igition, and the steering lock staying on. But problem solved and am going to relocate the igition to a secret location for lol's more than anything.
  4. Cheers for that, I'll get it sorted ASAP.
  5. And the winner is... Option #1! (kind of, mixed with option 2) Eastwing hammer + flathead screwdriver / back of the iginition barrel = FTW! Wasn't really sure what you ment brock, but took your suggestion and found what I thought was the problem and smacked it with the hammer. That usually works. Hammertime ALLWAYS wins. It's enough to get me to work tomorrow anywho hopefully. Took it for a quick spin seems allright, it isn't locked and wasn't looking like it was going to. (i'm pretty sure it's pretty well bent up in there) Will take it all out on the weekend to make sure it's all good.
  6. Hey all, the tumblers in my iginition went the other day, so I took the steering surrounds off and started playing with the barrel. Ended up taking the back of it off and can start the engine by turning it (with the key, a flathead, icecream stick, anything) and thought all was sweet. Untill I went to reverse out of the driveway and the steering lock is jammed on. Any rangi mods I can do to get it to release?
  7. What were you doing in my neck of the woods today? Saw you at the flying under the flyover at the mount today - cars looking sweet mang!
  8. My mate was having a yak the other day about putting curtains up in the van, and theres a metal line running through that makes it hard to fit them up. Then he says he saw these threaded pop rivets at his old work, but couldn't remember what they were called. They have a special name. I've searched around for them, but with no luck. The plan is to fit these threaded rivets into this piece of internal metal then bolt/screw the curtain rails into them. Does anyone know what they are called and possibly where I can get some?
  9. Better update this time. Got two new sticky outy van/truck mirrors to replace the broken one. Black as well which will match all the exterior bolt on's like the visor and stone guard etc. Also obtained a spare sliding window to replace the one that fell out at beach hop. And in other news, I got me some sweet as reyums!! Finally! Some 14x7 Prostars which do the trick. The front is perfect offset, will get some spacers to fit to te rear to make em sticky outy. Going to swap/stretch my 175/14 tyres onto them as well which will hopefully stop the guard rub. They are in allright nic, will get some photo's of them up sometime. If you want a cheap set of 205/14's that came with the pro's, click here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=18041 In the meantime, here's some pics of the van before I went on holiday: Cheers Ham for holding it up, the visors been painted black. Dummy fitting the bullbars, visor and stone guard. Tis got the sweetest profile for a van: (Bonus points for knowing where the lookout I'm parked at is) And a bit of oldschool/newschool family time at work:
  10. Oh my roof racks are off for the moment, no use putting so much more weight on the vehicle for the poor lil 1800 to lug around. It has a hard enough time just trying to get the thing to move! Need to get the racks galved ASAP.
  11. Yeah, I slid my airel down, just not far enough apparently, now it's bent on a crazy cool bozo-exhaust angle which goes with the angle of the roof. Looks rad, wish I'd done it earlyier! And yeah, should of thought about the mirror but forgot all about it. Got some new ones to go on sometime.
  12. Also, what's the deal with fitting bullbars? I have a set to fit my year delica sitting in the shed, and the bars have holes on them to match what I presume would be holes in the chassis. Except my chassis doesn't have any. I know this sounds dodgey but can I drill holes in the chassis rails to fit them? I figure, since the holes would be filled with stainless bolts it wouldn't be much/any weaker? Does anyone know the legalites?
  13. mines probably a good 2 feet from the rear..... is it behind any opening windows? that it is my friend Yeah, it has to be behind any opening windows so the gasses don't get sucked into the cabin, that's a big no-no. As far as projecting past the body, it depends where you get your warrent. I went to one shop with my cedric, no problems, then the next wof went to another one and they kicked up a ker-fufle about it having to stick past the body.
  14. Yeah man, sure is! It's the first time in a very long time that I've seen another car the same shape as mine, after the last couple of cars I've had (apart from the RVR and Datto ute). I think the one your talking about is on tridents? There's also a yellowy/orange one with bull bars too.
  15. Oh yeah, and the car wash at BP in Hams snaped my passengers mirror off while drying it off and bent my ariel too. Awesome.
  16. Bit of a rugged update: My sweet as roof rack is rusting away in the weather, still needs to be hot diped in the galv tank sometime. One monday morning before work the other week, I reversed into one of those stupid semi-circle planter boxs that stick out on the main mount shops road and put a sweet dent in the rear corner. (gutted cause I could of just drived straight out of the park, didn't even need to reverse but was so droopy and tired) Then clipped a curb at a hotel up in auckland and one of the stainless bands fell off without me realising, doh. Then up at beach hop last weekend my drivers side sliding window fell out and smashed on the main stretch where everyone was doing laps. Opps . Thought someone had bottled my car but meh, twas just the window falling out as they do. So if anyone knows where a wreck is that I can poach the window from, please let me know. I might take the back door and sliding door too if the price is right. Still hunting high and low for that elusive set of O/S JDM 5 stud rims. I so wish it was 4 stud!! I'm even thinking of resorting to 12 slot matty b rims in the interum! So yeah, it's a bit of a downdate.
  17. Amen. Nice bro, nice! One of the more tidyer ones I've seen in a while. My old man will flip, he had the same in Canery yellow way back in the day and is gagging to get another one. Like those rims too! Have you done anything to the engine?
  18. That's the sprit, the Prince Gloria/B200 is a dam fine car to drive! In saying that, old GTO's are too... and Mr Red Sundays one is getting there. Keep up the good work man! If your after the stripe decals, I'm pretty sure that when I had my one, that Kempys Misti spares in south Auckland were selling them new. Don't know if they still are, and they have moved in the last year or two, but still might be worth ringing them if they are what your after.
  19. Yeah man, bring it to whanga's! B hop all the way. Looks seriously shlick. Best van on O/S
  20. Hey, thanks for the offers peeps, much appreciated. But have had a slight change of plans and am going to go with a more 80's wheel to suit the awesomeness of the shoebox on wheels that is my van. That makes this a bit of a wasted thread sorry. Thanks anyways y'all.
  21. Anyone going from welly via Levin up north? Found either two widened steels or a full set of alloys that I'm keen on and was wondering if anyone's keen for a box if they are heading up this way? Can either drop off at Hamilton if your going through to Auckland, or if your coming to Tauranga, that'd be perfect.
  22. Hey dude, nah havn't been able to do anything to it lately - when I havn't been working, I've been traveling. So not much spare time to work on it. Sprayed the visor matt black to match the stone guard, but have to make up some mounting plates now to fit it. That's about it. Took out the curtains as well cause they kept falling down on passengers. Have to figure out a better way of mounting them, cause they cost a bomb to do. (custom professionally tailered curtains etc) Cut the rude pink boso pipe off as well as it kept gashing me in the shin while it was still hot when I'd go to open the boot. Also lost one of the stainless wheel bands, gutted. If anyone has a single 14" band they wana get rid of, flick me a PM as I'm not too keen on buying a full set just for one. Does anyone know the law when it comes to mounting bull bars as well? I have a one in the garage sitting there ready to go, but the chassis has no mounting holes. So how do I fit them? Can I drill into the chassis and fit them with bolts? (far that sounds dodgey )
  23. Your car looks better in real life!! Did you get that tyre changed allright on the Kaimais?
