  1. If I did, I'd definatly do it so that it's easyily reversed back to stock. Probebly custom front springs up front, blocks in the back etc. But I'm in no hurry. It's a seriously comfy ride, and after the cedric, it's a bit of a nice change going over bumps and not catapulting into the roof. A friend suggested a front visor over the windsheild and maybe stick on polished roofracks. Good call IMO. I'm keen. Especially for the visor. What do you guys reackon?
  2. A moment's silence please. It was sold to John yesterday and should be on the ferry to the SI by this time today. It's in good hands and keep an eye out on http://www.datsun.co.nz for the build which is going to involve a VH engine if/when his engineers plans get approved. Here's a few pic's of it to remember it by: Morning wake up call to the neighbors: Last shot:
  3. Allready done that. Got them on the other day, 1/2 metre cable ties round the wheel slots, then little clear ones from them to the hub cap = minimal plastic over wheels + see thru FTW.
  4. Here's some pics of the interior and spares: Lens, fuel pump kit, owners manual, coupon book, workshop manual / more books, brand new badges etc: (Cam, trim and box of gaskets in the background) Brand new tail light, hud caps (x8 ) and grill Gearbox, diff, drive shaft (exhaust and intake manifold behind gearbox): Pumps/misc: Valves and head stuff: Misc: A few lens', speedo console, horn/inner steering ring etc: So should keep it on the road for years to come!
  5. Magoo's a little on the expensive side?! He's a blimmen rip unless your some old rodder who's made your millions and money's no object! Had second thoughts and coathanger trick will probebly work with cable ties. Just go over one notch in the hub cap instead of the lenth of between the slot's on the rims if you know what I mean. Twas goin to loop them over one of the notch's on the cap, then down between the slot's on the rims, and tie/twist em together on the back. So they could be easily untwisted if need be, but cable ties FTW, just cut them.
  6. That does a? But you can never have to much stainless! Had a idea involving a coat hanger. I'll give it a shot tomorrow hopefully. Bit difficult to explain. Anyone know where to get whitewalls btw?
  7. Just sticking hubcaps on throws the balance off ever so slightly, cause they werent on the rim when balanced. But fuck it, just silicon the cunts on. You dont nedd to take them off for flat tyres or anything....O wait this for that sweet Gloria right? Skip the Rangi way I suggested and go see what the local tyre places can offer Good call!
  8. Would def put some Mojaves or Baja1's on. Without a doubt. Thanks for the pic's photomaster! I am in honor of your high photo posting powers! Looks primo bro, choice as. Hahaha!
  9. Question 1: Ok first off, anyone know where I can pick up some whitewall flappers or can get em painted with that special rubberised tyre paint? Question No. 2: I have stainless hubcaps that I want to put back on but a hella scared of them blowing off ( ), and my rims have only four, well spaced slots meaning I'd need huge cable ties that would just look super ugly as they'd have to stretch for ages. Know any other tricks/ideas of keeping them on? (apart from bending the latches?)
  10. Stop tuck and roll steez for sure. Red vinyl FTW!! Cheers for that sparkle, that's a big call, means alot. There's some pretty rad jappa's on here.
  11. Tuck and roll = Bench? Aye. And pies, I'll change me sig when John's picked it up or the deposit shows. Then, new sig time! And yeah, I'm in two minds if I want it lowered or not. Not for the moment as it's just to comfy!! Driving from Waihi, I put my drink (large OJ) on the seat standing upright and looked back at it 20 mins later for another swig and it was still upright and just as I'd left it cruising at 60 mph over bumps and around corners! That's how sweet the ride is!! The guy wasn't joking when today he said it's like driving a lounge suite.
  12. More pic's as per requested. Front steez, clear indicators decades before it was a car fashion statement! (i'm sure there'd be other factory clear indictators out there, don't hate me) Rear is primo. Got a spare boot badge and tail lights: What's that shiney thing hiding in there? Pffft, just my polished rocker cover! And shiney 40 year old bonnet FTW!! (and factory working bonnet vents)
  13. Ok, now I've had a few cars that collected quite a bit of attention, but this one takes the cake!! Just went up town for a bit, and one guy was following me in this 4x4 all over the show, freaking me out. I pull over, he jumps out, "Looks just like my old one!" Phew... Have a yak to him. He goes, another dude walks by and has a yak bout it. He goes another. So not parking outside repco unless I have time to kill. Go to subway. Guy walks past, looks at it. Has a yak. Turns out he's the owner of Bay Prestige (sells most of new cars in Tauranga, Dodge, Merc, Nissan, Audi, etc etc etc big conglomeration). He loves it, used to be the head of Nissan N.Z. Want's me to bring it to one of his show's he having, with old models of the brands he sells. Would I be interested? Hek yeah! What my number? Yadayada yada. Ok. Go to electrical shop to get oversized cable ties for the hub caps. Two guys jump out of their van and have a yak. Then a truckie walks past and has a gawk and a yak. I know of one that's in a paddock in Masterton. Twas there last year. I can get you the address of the farmer. You keen? What's your number? Yadayada yada. Mate!! This is insane!! I thought Prince would be kind of a underground car that knowone would of really heard of!!
  14. Mate! This is just crazy! Thanks so much for all the positive feedback guys... don't know what to say!! Reguards what I'm going to do to it, Keep the original paint for a bit longer (still got life left in it, even though it's got a few little dings/crazy cracks). Whitewalls and try find (good luck to me) or get custom made body trim down the side, and mud flaps, cause it needs them, cause it has quite a few stone chips on the sills. And a Oldschool looking C.D player to blast out the 5678's out the single centred dash speaker!! Trying to upload pics from my phone but it takes a while. And as for one Mr. Kyteller, he's on the ball, he knows what's up!! Punk. But yeah, I gota stick to my projects, and I was adamint that I would on the ceddy, but funds are seriously up the shoot at the mo, and it's better financhly (where's spellcheck?) for me to buy this than it was to wait around and do up the Ceddy. Yeah, pretty much a straight swap the Ceddy for this whoever asked. Got it for a steal IMO, and the guy I brought it off knew it I think.
  15. Project Disscustion here: viewtopic.php?t=12839&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 Hey all, ok, as some of you will know, I have/am selling my ceddy to John, seeing as I don't have any money to paint / build up it any time soon, I thought I might as well pass it on to someone who can/will. So with regret it is now his project... BUT!! I can't be carless as the Ceddy was the daily driver, so picked up this today. A 1966 Prince (read: Nissan) Gloria (B200). Running a beautiful reconditioned original G7 6 cyl engine with 4 speed column change. Driving it back today, it is the most cruisyest car ever!! This engine just purrs!! Interior is mint and totally original. Exterior wise, it's still in it's original coat, and coming from ChCh, and garaged for the last 15 years in auckland (hasn't even been out in the rain for the past 8 years!!) it has no rust and the paint is still in reasonable nick, thanks to the awesome guy I brought it off who kept it in such good condition. Has a truck load of spares (litterally, diff, gearbox, uv, driveshaft, front n back windows, all lights, etc etc etc etc...) even the origainal owners papers, owners manual, shop manual, coupon book, drivers log, and other books that I can't remember, the original jack/tool kit (some guy, presume overseas, emailed him WTBing the tool kit, after spend 40k restoring his Prince Skyline. Name your price offer kinda thing!)... seriously, there's some great history behind this car. Picture time: He offered me a either a prince tie pin/large laminated poster he took off a ceiling in a abandonded mechanics/anchient "datsun" fan with a gloria n bluebird or 6 months rego, and being that I'm stretched for cash, I had to take the rego. So bam!! Rego, AA Canterbury sticker, and shiny 40 year old paint FTW! Should of got the other stuff. More pics to come when I can get them off the phone.
  16. Ceddy for Sale (possibly) - EOI http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=12778
  17. Good point, I'll have a tootuu with it tonight and will let ya know.
  18. Mr Thousand Doller Super Car - Your a winner!! Cheers so much for that!! It's been bugging me for ages!! Even yesterday people were asking what it was! Doesn't seem to actively do anything when parked or moving so I'm wondering if it still works and does what it's supposed to. All the rest of the electrics do so I'd be supprised if it's broke. But at any rate, YOUR THE MAN!!! (or lady, if so, my bad.)
  19. Ok - Long time no post. After a hiatus off the road, the Ceddy is finally back and purring as good as ever!! Took it into Bay Nissan finally today after having it parked up for what seemed like forever. Long story short, gave it a rev to see how it sounded, didn't like it, threw a tappet. No compression in No. 3 Cyl. Dogh!! Ran like a dog. A dog with only 2 legs. So anyways, $200 later and they'd fixed it, all tourqed to perfection. They'd never seen one like it before, and "If I ever want to sell it, let them know first!!" Didn't have the heart to tell them to get in line so just was like, nah, not keen on selling it. But main thing is it's back on the road!! = Stoke2
  20. Found this watching the intro for Seibu, had a lol, thought I'd share. "SEIBU KEISATSU"="西部警察" ARE VERRY FAMOUS AND POPULAR ON TV PROGRAM OF POLICE HARD ACTION DRAMA. maybe its the most of "police drama sereases in japan" i think so.
  21. = Sorry mate, had to be done! Here's some lame pics of mine which has reset leaves and new shocks (Monroe from memory?) Works well. Front end has custom kings springs/shocks/+ strut kit. Cost $1100. Nolathane would improve everything no end I would think though.
  22. Ors. So tidy!! Keep it red/black mate!! Mean hatchi!
  23. It's not looking likely (if it ever did) that they'll be fitting easily. So if anyone knows of some nice 5x114.3 period style wheels, let me know. Oh yeah, got a new bumble bee antenna that I'll stick up under the dash, cause the old ones broken/lame. Was eyeing up the big whip antenna's at Fuels work, almost brought one...
