  1. Hey man, just got a email offering my Prince Parts books. I allready have one for my car, but he's got one for a '63 skyline/skyway. If your keen PM me and I'll give you his email.
  2. Wide. Aparently to wide to fit into a 260c anyways. (easyly)
  3. Kilburnie = Where? Get some pics for sure if you can man, and an address if you can and PM me with it if your out those ways, cause at the moment everyone who comes up to me talks about how they or there friend/relitive had one, but no one seems to actually have one driving around these parts, so it'd be cool to know if there's any others out there.
  4. Got some photo's sent to me the other day of the last day that the ceddy and gloria were together, enjoy:
  5. Pfffttt, bicycle wheels...
  6. With eagers. How wide are the rears?
  7. Hopefully, but probebly not, as I need two newer rear tyres, cause at the moment the ones on there have no edges whatsoever. And I'm kind of broke ATM. Yeah, I think it would take an age to crack, or maybe a flat tyre. It wouldn't fall off, it's been primerd properly, so don't think it'd be a concern. Have to wait and see if it yellows or not. I left that tyre out in the sunshine/rain/5 seasons in one day, for about a fortnight and it looked exactly the same as when I painted it. So presume it probebly happens when driving around on them. I agree you should do them on older tyres too.
  8. The DIY Whitewall article: You know you've allways wanted too, but too afraid they'd turn out bung. So here's a little summery of what I've tryed/learnt lately: What you need: 1 x Electrical Tape (it's more rubberised/stretchy and doesn't bunch up like masking tape going round in circles) 1 x Razor blade Some degresor Some resene rubber/butyl roof primer (after my research, I figured this would do the trick, I take no liability if it eats into your tyres. Not that I think it would, as it's designed specificly for use on rubber) Pretty expensive. 1 x paint brush. 1 Litre or 1/2 litre would be better of untinted, white based Resene Lumbersider. (Reason why I use this as, when I was a painter it is pretty hard wearing and sun resistent, so hopefully should be pretty hardy and not yellow. Also, it's the perfect whitewall colour/gloss level. Not too shiney, not too matt.) Cost around $80 from the resene shop. Ok, so what I did. 1stly, look on your sidewall for a edge you want to use as an outline. Pick/snip those little rubber spikey things that stick out the side of your tyres. Give the side wall a bit of a scuff with sandpaper (just lightly, and try not to sand that edge) and degrease it and washe it and let the tyre dry. This gives the tape and paint something to stick to without debry getting in the way. Next, mask up that edge carefully. This is the most important stage, make sure you do it as good as possible! Go over the tape again, pushing it down into the edge you want with your fingernail. Very carefully, cut it with the blade the tape in the edge you want. (just cut the tape, don't go crazy and cut the tyre! Go carefully, take your time, do it once, do it right. Peel it off the inner piece that your cut carefully, and push down whats left again on the tyre. Then slap on your roofing butyol primer. (don't go over the masking onto the rest of your tyre!) Lay it off as nice as you can. It goes on blue but drys clear. Don't do it in the sun, as this waterbased stuff drys quickly. Wait however long it tells you to, and slap on 3 coats of your lumbersider after that. (let each coat dry for the recommend time, or else it may snot up or crack) Make sure you jostle it around and get in any groves/lettering. Lay each coat off as nicely as you can. Wait for it to dry, and peel off the tape. Volia! Whitewalls for a fraction of the price. I dummy tested it on a old tyre we had lying around, and bounced it and scuffed it pretty good once it had dryed and it is pretty hard wearing stuff. I would presume it'd be better to do it to a tyre thats allready on the rim, and mask the rim as well, if you don't think you can cut it in. That way it'd save it getting damaged putting it back on the rim, just in case. Anywho the final product should look something like this: It's a pretty naf tyre with about a 1/2mm edge, so, it's not that flash. I'm trying it again with masking tape at the moment to see if that sharpens up the edge line anything. The bigger the edge, the nicer the finished line will be. EDIT= Just painted the other side, and masked it up with paper masking tape. Worked pretty good as well, just wouldn't recommend it unless your've done masking before as it does tend to crease. Electrical tape would is the go if you havn't done it before. As I was peeling it off just now, I figured it'd be better to cut along the making edge as well again, so it doesn't tear the paint or leave any tape on the tyre. I cut it again before peeling the masking tape off and the difference is definatly noticeable. Much better. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Do it! It's a good formula if done right.
  10. I agree with sheepers, had the same problem in the gloria. Twas the leaking slave cyl, and had absolutly no clutch pressure. But every time i refilled the fluid, I had to pump the clutch for anywhere from 30 secs to 5 mins. Just keep pushing it and it comes back after a while. Good if you just want to move it, stink having to do it every day before and after work....
  11. Ok ok ok... Just got a old N.Z Classic car Mag off trademe for $4 the other day and it arrived last night. I was stoked cause it was supposed to have a spread on Prince Gloria's. So I flick over a few pages and BAM!! There's a photo shoot of my car!! Woha!! It's allready been in the magazines! May 98 NZCC. Score, I'll post some proof up when I can get some pics. Also I've been trying my hand at painting whitewalls, will let y'all know how it's gone/how I did it...
  12. Mean!! Told y'all it twas to be a skyline!! Good to see another Prince on here! Mean idea's too man, much rust? Stuff the C110, work primarly on that! And yeah, king cab FTW! Just found out they made them a few nights ago. There's some Prince rims F/S on TM ATM FTW You can widen those maybe if you don't want to do it to the stocks. Good find at any rate!! Get onto it!!
  13. Updated it, twas my/the dark/lack of manuals fault
  14. Ok, you know your oldschool if: you arrive at your destination 12 hours+ later than if you'd just takin the newer car.... Today was a mission. Figured out this morning in the light that I'd put the tranny fluid in the bellhousing!! (doH!!1!) So that's what was causing the shuddering when trying to move it, the oil all over the clutch causing it to slip and shudder. So. We jack the car up on the side of the road with make do tools. Take the clutch bottom cover off and drain it, then blast it full of carb cleaner (doesn't leave deposit's as much as degrease) and got most of it off. Got to do it again tomorrow while the clutch is ingaged just to get the last of it out. So, problem solved. Except me having the biggest head cold and blocking up ears/hearing, turns out noise wasn't coming from the front, but the back, so looks like diffs whining a bit. Toped it up a bit but still whines at around 100 in 3rd and OD. Will suss it out ASAP cause after drivning with that for 2 hours back from AKL, it's blimmin loud! (Thanks to Jeremy big time for the tools/help if you read this!) O yeah, had to pull out some wires and stuff to get at the bell houseing and put one back in back to front, and it stuffed up the iginition and headlights big time. I could drive, but with no headlights ( interior lights worked but no horn or radio and if I turned the headlights on full beam it killed the engine straight away even though they weren't working ) and with it getting dard, had to pull over by the pink pig and rewire it/push start by myself. But is all good again.
  15. More pic's as asked for: Wanted to take some more last night around Auckland CBD, but the car had developed a whine that was getting louder and louder in 3rd and 4th. I thought it was lack of fluid so went to go top it up and as I poored it in the top it all came out the bottom like a sive!! Then when I went to go move it out of the gas shop it would change into gear, engage then start shuddering when I went to go forward. Is that serious by the sounds of things? Or will a new gasket and some oil fix it? I'm going to rip it out this avo if I'm up to it and check it all out anyways.
  16. Look in his sig boe. Isuzu Piazza. That's what I was originally thinking, but I was all like nah, no one would admit to driving that! Yeah man, and to the dude who was after my visor, buy it so I can get a bigger one and shorten it. Figure it'd be easyier than lenghtining it.
  17. Pretty much the best van I've seen in like forever! What's not to love about it? Sorry if it's been asked before but what's the stud size/ Just awesome man. Best Van award just on rims alone.
  18. Pizizle? I'm not down with Tron speak, your'll have to explain. Yeah, was coming home from Rags late yesterday. Shoulda laid on ya horn and hollered!
  19. Steel = too heavy + wind resistence. I've allready got the drag from the drivers side oversized monsoon slowing me down enough... once it's over 60 it starts pulling to the right!! Just jokes.
  20. Don't lie, you love yankee/mooneyes jap steez! Everyone should.
  21. Any chance you can edit that last statement wantoldschool? Thanks. And yeah, I'll take some more pics. Just fixing the clutch slave today, as it was leaking clutch fulid pretty bad. You could litterally see the fuild level in the resouvier going down while you watched. So hopefully chuck the spare one in the meantime while the other one (original) is off getting re-sealed. Anyone have any idea's on lenghtening the visor? I'm going make up screw tightened clamps at both ends rather than drill holes in the bodywork. Anything I do to this car is going to have to be reversable. Is my idea legit? Weld a piece in the middle and remesh it? Will the weld marks show? (I've never worked on alloy, only mild and stainless)
  22. Picked up a external visor for it the other day over at the mount. It was originally for some kind of pugo so it's a bit short (bout 10-20cm) so am hopeing to lengthin it somehow. My first idea would be to get some of the same outer material and section a piece in the middle and then redo the mesh while I'm there. Do you think it will work? Any other idea's?
  23. Truck steez muffler for sure man!! It's looking good.
