  1. I need a radiator to fit in my car. Sounds easy but its proving a pain in the arse. Ive got a 3 core one out of a corona diesel, its the right sorta size but the outlets are the wrong size and the one on the drivers side is too close to the corner. (anyone who knows capris) I've had to chop the radiator support panels out and am having to put the radiator in front of the original lower radiator crossmember. If anyone knows anyone or has themselves put a v8 in a mk 1, I'd like any help or ideas i can, before busting the bank on a custom made one. Thanks ya'll. p.s. all the aussie tank rad's ive measured are way too big
  2. ur gonna have fun installin that puppy, hopefully the 2L sits lower in the engine bay than my v8 does, that way you wont have to chop the tunnel. and its pretty hit and miss tuning a computer with no more than an exhaust emissions sensor and a good ear, could fluke it though, dyno ftv. either way, if ya need any help give a holler eh. its gona go nuts.
  3. have you thought of sleeving them and running standard bearings, turning out trojan trailer hubs or machining falcon hubs with a sleve in the insidebearing and a spacer on the hub flange? nothing will bolt straight on, i can garantee that.
  4. Almost...dont want the bulge though. Il ring that fibreglass auto replacments place. come on bro, ya gotta have the POWER BULGE. its tuff.

  6. yeh, my u12 bluebird poobox is 4 x 114.3. fully stoked you mentioned me in the thanks column. i'll drink to that.
  7. falcons are 5x 114.3 (just had to contribute something.
  8. bah ya shoulda just made one, piece of piss. bore out the original gear, drill and tap some holes in the "spokes" make a tophat sleeve with holes drilled it it, keyway and youre away.
  9. I agree that capri's suit older block type colours, but i think a 2 tone paint job would clutter the look up too much, considering all the effort of shaving and debadging ive done it'd be a shame to spoil the lines of it, although saying that a 2 tone job (done right) could enhance the lines. hmm. toughy isnt it. 2 tone doesnt feel right to me. thats all. maybe gunmetal grey with a pink and lime green "tearing" effect up the side, mid nineties street machine style. that'd be rad.
  10. black capri's are awesome, but 'ol JR has a black capri in ChCh and i just reckon, as a colour its a bit bogun for my liking. And lets just say, a bright orange car would not suit my personality at all.
  11. each to their own eh? i reckon that car looks awful. colours quite cool, Id still like to see a mk 1 in that colour though. man just been messing round with my gearbox crossmember. fuck its being a cunt, just about threw a sledge on the roof before. getting so sick of it.
  12. that other capri looks mint, not mk 1 enough though . i think charcoal with a white roof would look awesome on th right car. I got the idea today that if i did slate dark grey with a gold pearl and ran with gold simmons type wheels it'd look pretty hawt.
  13. found this pic of a gunmetal capri (i'd probably go slightly darker still) its a mk 3 but, general idea etc.
  14. I'm not painting it black. was originally gonna but i'll have grown out of it by the time its finished, im no bogun. thought black with a blue pearl would have been nice but again, everyone paints their capris blue.
  15. do it properly, for your safety and ours. with flipped leaves, the force of one leaf is cancelled out by the other and the bolt has to withstand the difference, one decent hit and the rear end of your car could just come undone.
  16. so yeh, what colour scheme should i paint my car folks? i was thinking gunmetal grey with black underneath and dark royal blue details (diff struts etc) or dark blue, black underneath and dark green details, or dark green, black underneath and royal blue details. im swaying towards gunmetal grey because every second capri i've seen is blue or green.
  17. fuck thats dodgy mate.... honestly.
  18. I always thought they went for smaller windows as they are ususally cheaper and easier to replace, arent thieves considerate. If u have tints it doesnt matter what window gets smashed, it'll be fairly quiet. I do agree with you in the shaved locks etc, i'm taking that route as well. but yeh, its cantinas thread, so bah. theives need their balls chopped off.
  19. mk5 cortina = pwnts them hard, no small windows to smash like most cars do and no lock knobs ftw = them screwed unless they have alarm remote. oh and atm, my door handle is ftl, so hard to open, that if you didnt know how to do it properly, youd think it was locked. tricking thieves ftw haha. my headdeck = locked away in the glvoebox FTW. my car is ftw, cantinas will be too if he shaves all that he can. belive it or not but large windows are easily smashed too
  20. aaah methodz your dedication to this site will never go unnoticed. (good cunt) thanks bro. gonna have to bling the bluebirds wheels now ive got an excuse, top topic lowrola. good shit.
  21. yeah, that article about the pinto safety made me slightly sick, at least they wouldnt get away with it in this PC world, anyway, I'd better stop spamming up this topic.
  22. yeah, true, who wants a pinto anyway, that and the crx, 2 cars that you are almost guaranteed to die in at 30mph crash. ugly too
  23. pintos came with a 2.3 4 cylinder, not the 2.3 cortina engine. american pintos are completely different to english pintos. i think the oil pump is the same/ thats it. mate of mine has a turbo 2.3 pinto in his escort. pretty rad.
  24. mate of mine just ordered some out of the states http://www.technotoytuning.com they arent cheap but they are serious bling, they fuct up the order too, gave him one starlet one, and the other a ae86, so they are sending another starlet and letting him keep the spare, nice paperweight.
