  1. to quote another esteemed forum member if that was the state of my engine, my battleship would be sunk!!
  2. didnt rebuild when i got it, i guess its just could have been poorly maintained in japan and after i got it and started thrashing it it started to wear?? oil pump seems to be sweet so ill take the bits into the engine shop and see hether its salvalgable.
  3. ask wde_bdy what its like
  4. i guess te engine bay looks good, just waiting to see the rest really
  5. yeah mines off the road too now. but i could always clean my van and roll that.
  6. yeah i was surprised when i put them on! My original thinking was just cheap light 15s for racing ect. ill have to stretch some tyres on before i space the back wheeels, those tryres on there are 215s and 205s on the front.
  7. Build Thread: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/21031-seedy-als-chop-shop-hoodride-vw-project/?p=539359 Cool!! That looks too mint to hoodride. Is it as good as pics show or more fucked than that. Also how much did u get it for? Id be keen to get something like that aye. maybe after i fix the hammering in my bottom end
  8. sweet meet up its always weird meeting people off the interweb, can u plz block my numberplate? Chur
  9. sigma front brakes are the same size as lancer ones. I didnt need gearbos x member either, but that may be cos i got custom engine mounts. Personally i wouldnt buy a sigma, id just buy a 40$ gearbox cos thats pretty much the only thing you need and mock up some mounts and get an engineer to weld them. sigma drum brake diff would be only slightly stronger than a ex one, theres plenty of peeps using ex ones that havent broken. arent you just gonna build it to sell anyway? why waste extra cash when it would have no gain to you?
  10. heres an idea, get your fuckin car going n00b!
  11. what do you need a whole sigma for? all i needed from a sigma was the gearbox. i only got the diff out of a sigma cos it was disc brakes otherwise i woulda used stock ex item.
  12. k text me tell me where you guys are, ill be keen. cant really crusie about much tho my engine is sounding unhealthy
  13. why dont you collect the other bits you need while youre waiting for an engine.
  14. was thinking of bidding but decided they would no where near fit under my guards
  15. yeah woulda prefered something with dish, but i wont be too gutted when i slide into a kerb with these
  16. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 823312.htm just bought these for a sly hundy. gonna paint em up see how they look
  17. Best idea is to ask you're engine reconditioner. personally i would not let it idle at all, drive it normally with running in oil. i.e dont thrash it but dont nana it. for 100km, then cahnge oil and drive as you usually would.
  18. i think you are probably looking for http://www.oldskoolrydz.com
  19. i guess. fully thought id do a 13 tho. that 14.1 was my 2nd run and then my times were all mid 14s. Somehow it just didnt feel that fast i guess its cos its just you and the other car on a big wide strip, Instead of fangin down little streets ect
  20. best project here, keep it goin!! love the wheels
  21. pretty shit, a 14.1 was my fastest. Think i need more practise. and i was overheating heaps. met 3 oldschoolers there was mean.
