    not running it just needs a new water pump and a WOF. it has a bit of surface rust, nothing serious and will get a respray sooner or later. it failed a WOF last time because of the stearing arm or sum shit but its not mine so dont give 2 much about it lol and its jag green :puke: lol

    hi people, i have a starlet with a 4k, 4spd and 2k flywheel, clutch, pressure plate. what way around does the clutch plate itself go? it doesnt have any markings on it but one side has a little bit sticking out where the spline goes into. i got told that the bit sticking out goes towards the g'box but its already slipping (after a week of driving since new and no burnouts!) i hope that its meant to go the other way around so i can blame the guys that told me any reply would be great. thanks probably missing some details but im in a hurry

  7. FUKD50 put a 5spd in his lancer (now owned by logan (or sara)) and they got someone to cut the shift lever really low, put a horizontal piece on pointing forward and then put another piece on going up again so that the shift lever went forward 100mm or so

    if it ends up being your ballast resistor, just bypass it but i dont think thats it because if it is stuffed, your car wouldnt go at all....

    Alex (ESCORT POWER) sorts out the banners but i am not sure if the banners will fit a mini? i put a banner on the back window of the starlet and that didnt really fit... just PM him and ask

  16. i did mine over the weekend, piss easy! i know fuck all about cars and was able to do it on my own! apart from physically lifting the box in place and lining it up. i got my mate to give me a hand for 10 minutes and the rest was all on my own. i think i got the k50 though but i'm not 100% sure. the reason i think it is a k50 is because everything lines up perfectly, even the shifter hole . it doesnt make 2 much difference aye, my starly would top out at 140 with the 4 spd and now its not even 160 (with top out i mean without passing redline) it cruises nicer though on the motorway etc i havnt actually told you anything you want to know but yeah. if you have a q or 2 then just ask me. p.s. wouldnt it be funny if you tried to do a g'box swap and for some mysterious reason the starly wouldnt go on track day you wont be able to beat me then HAHAHAHA and you wouldnt need 5th at the taupo track day though...

  18. thanks for your help guys!!! we got it running last night we changed the gasket, points and capacitor, changed the leads to slightly better ones, made all the connections tight as f*ck and set the plug gaps a litle bit better and it ran on all 4 so now i can drive the beast the only problem is that if it's under 2000 RPM it runs a little funny but over that it purrs along great thanks again for all your help people

  20. the compression on all cylinders was between 180 and 185 so that great. we checked the valves and they are all moving so that seems fine. this engine is a mystery, nobody that had a look at it seems to know what the problem is
  21. the dizzy is fine, we checked that 100 times. the leads are in the right order and they aren't shit. thanks anyway jerm i set the point gap to .5mm and it opens and closes fine at the right times so thats not the problem. we pulled the plugs out, put them in the leads and tested them and they all worked fine. just a summary, All plugs fire, we've got fuel, we've got air and we've got compression. why isnt number 3 and 4 going!! the timing is good aswell so as far as i know we have all our bases coverred.... again, any help is appreciated
  22. i don't have a spare dizzy but i bought a new dizzy cap and it still has the same problems we did the timing and that was fine so that's not the problem, we swapped the number 1 and 2 leads with 3 and 4 and it did the same thing. we swapped the order of number 3 with number 4 to see if we had the timing order wrong and still the same problem. the next thing is to check that the points are actually openning and set the point gap to .5mm (hacksaw blade) and to swap the plugs. the plugs shouldn't be wrong but it's always good to know for sure if anyone has any advise or things we can try... Please tell me! i need to take this car to work again on monday and i dont want to take the little 50cc thing to point chev
  23. thanks for the help but its none of those and no logan, it doesnt actually run smooth at higher RPM.... it runs better but not smooth. the problem is that it's only running on the number 1 and 2 cylinder lol the plugs, leads amd connections of number 3 and 4 are fine and the timing light senses power because it flashes the spark plugs don't spark though so i'm guessing that the dizzy cap isn't connecting properly to give enough power to make a spark... but enough to set of the timing light... is that possible? the only problem with this theory is that the dizzy worked on my last engine i've been told that if i take the resistor out at the coil that it leaves the power at 12v instead of 6 so that the spark gets put into 40,000 instead of 20,000 with the resistor at place. can anyone confirm this? i don't want to kill anything but if it's possible without killing either coil, dizzy, plugs, engine etc then it'd be cool thanks for the help so far guys!!! hopefully there is someone that can help me with this because i'm lost
  24. Hey people, me and logan put a 4K in my trusty starlet but it's running a bit rough. the weird thing is that, its getting fuel, dizzy works, leads are fine, plugs are new... does anyone know what my problem is?
