  1. A meet for pre 90's jap and euro cars, classic, nostalgic, oldschool, retro, whatever. When: 22nd January 2011, 10am til 2pm Where: Massey Uni Carpark - Albany - Auckland (click for map) Same place as recent NZPC hardpark meet. http://www.performancecar.co.nz/news-59 ... ardpark-12 Have yet to post own pics of last years bellagio cafe meet.. but gallery and event info here http://toycrazy.net/gallery/classicjap/classicjap.html 2010 meet thread http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewto ... 6&start=60 '09 thread here http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewto ... 7&start=60
  2. hell yes! rare as all hell 4-door bug. you seen any others down south? hows the guard clearance on the fins? i had rub issues on 6.5j ffs. Top/front shot please
  3. from memory a std 4a-gze crank pulley is 150mm dia. aftermarket ones range from 165-175mm like cusco and nevo etc. the early sc12 (aw11/ae92) had a slightly larger charger pulley around 115mm i think. later ones from ae101 a bit smaller. running around 8psi-10psi respectively from factory. and its not revs that kill them.. it's creating too much boost, or pressure ratio, which adds too much heat into the system and cooks the rotor coating. above 14psi seems where poor efficiency makes it not worth the extra boost on sc12's. the later sc14 was fitted to the 2.5ltr 4cyl 2tz-fze estima engine. charger pulley on that is 110mm and 7rib belt. 1ggze version has less ribs and i think slightly bigger pulley? price wise.. trademe good cond' sc12's go for $150-250. sc14 $250-350. plenty available.
  4. mark aka 'mrtoymonsta' on garagedori recently bought one of these celica-camry (from member 'RA55') to rip the gearbox... is a RA55 GT. 18rgeu, w55 and F series IRS rear. disks all round but non vented. irs diff looks identical to the ta63/tt142 GT-T. almost like its a mix of ra63 running gear in an ma45 chassis. http://www.garagedori.com/showthread.php?tid=6386 looks like he's now on-sold the shell to LLR-ae70. could be worth asking for parts. http://www.garagedori.com/showthread.php?tid=6462 there are variations in the strut. these type i believe are closer in proportion to a ma45 celicaXX strut. ie the stub axle is larger and same as a ga61/ga71/ma61/mz11 size stub and hub/bearings, but yet still has the ae86 85mm bolt spacing. youll have plenty of bolt on vented disk options if you have this strut but in solid disk.
  5. so dodge fuel pump wiring causing pump not work? lean out etc. sounds like easy fix?
  6. seems like theres one easy solution. ditch that fucked wiring job and start with a non modified loom! there not much that needs to be changed in a factory loom. basically give it power and earth to the right places. run your alternator, starter, tacho, oil/water sensors etc to the dash and it'll run like a factory one. i dont recall having seeing an inj resistor pack on the bluetop? been a while tho. even though they're low imped inj.. maybe its in the ecu or something? anyone got definate proof of bluetop with inj resistor pack??? chasing a ghost? yes some bluetop 4age have a resister thing in the engine bay. but this is to adjust idle enrichment. the ae86 engine and loom in my 25 has this (next to coil/igniter)... but the bluetop from my ae82 fxgt does not. manual shows ae82 has it bolted to r/h strut tower from mem? where have you given power to the injectors/coil? is it the big fat black/orange wire coming out of eng loom above aircon (over top of cam cover next to dizzy). or has this been tapped into and fed rearwards etc? did you suss the fuel pump relay? search up 'circuit open relay'. (found bolted to side of ecu in ae82). the wiring diag may be in that 4age manual link. it's basically a relay with two coils... one triggered by STA signal (start key), the other keeps it triggered via the 'FC' pin on ecu. (or the switch in an afm). This is a 5 wire relay. two wires for fuel pump in/out. two power feeds from sta and FC to the coil, and coils have a shared earth wire. could also rig up two relays to do the same job. i have 4age and ae82 toyota manuals. if you need anything in particular from them let me know.

  12. oh yeah... it not jap only. anything pre 85ish should really just call it 'nostalgic car meet'
  13. hey it was mentions at new year meet to have more of these.. so here goes any probs with 20th march? nup ok good (edit) it only 1 weeks away. cornwall park meet like old times. near the bbq round-about.. where pohutukawa dr meets twin oak dr. 11am onwards. please hang round til at least 2 for good chin wags. who keen? map here this one more info here <---
  14. i hear aw11 mr2 rear inserts work with those smaller diameter struts. google it or somethin. easy option is keep the oil filled strut, and get a spacer made to sit between the valve thing and the top nut.. so the shock doesn't return fully to keep spring captive. then if the shock rate is a bit weak.. fill it up with thicker oil heh. in my ke26 ive fitted ae85 struts, te28 steering arms, ae92GT shocks and king springs from a starlet. also need to fit camber plates and RCA's for best handling. not exactly low low, but a coilover setup and shortened strut housing would sort that. bit of work compared to just fitting short stroke shock. more details on that here http://toycrazy.net/tech/ke2strutupgrade.htm
  15. wheres your eterna got to? im not doing to well myself either.. wagon is engineless, wofless etc haha oh shit mad mish ahead. managed to port my 12.5hp lawnmower engine tonight.. man briggs engines have mega fail ports! more details: BRUNCH... we're going for a brunch menu for the buffet.. so bacon eggs sausage hash brown tomotoes etc $15ea. 10.30am-12pm 10.30-12pm <------ got that 10.30am - 12pm for buffet brunch. be hungry! event is free.. support our hosts by having lunch on site!
  16. just a reminder... one week to go! it's this saturday for those memory deficient peoples I must make one thing very clear... absolutely NO BURNOUTS! whatsoever. I cannot exert this enough! you have been warned! anyones seen doing a skid, driving recklessly etc, this includes leaving the carpark, WILL have thier number plates dobbed into police including any related footage. (manukau police are just around the corner). The event, the cafe owners, and other events that take place in this carpark rely on the good behavior of all participants to keep a good name and allow the continued use of the carpark. previous behaviour has been great, lets keep it that way. Another thing, sorry guys NO ALCOHOL. Bellagio Cafe are not licensed. Also it is up to you to make sure your car is road legal. we dont want any colourful stickers handed out on the day! cheers.. can't wait
  17. just checking.. but did you use the original crown and pinion that was in the hilux head? didn't swap a different crown wheel on or anything silly? apparently in the hilux heads, theres something different to do with the crown wheel mounting in ratios lower than 4.8ish. what ratios were in the two heads that you've used parts from? the cars looking awesome
  18. and just in case you missed that... WHEN: Sat 16th Jan 2010 10am-3pm WHERE: Bellagio Cafe, Plunket Ave - Manukau City - AUCKLAND new motorway link from manukau to the sth western being built right next door chur
  19. yep ITS THE 16TH. went in and had a chat to bonney the other day. pile in one car and head out for a long lunch break or something. Bellagio Cafe can put on a buffet lunch. details soon. approx $15 ea. need to know numbers. pm me or post in thread if interested. dunno bout you, but i reckon it'd be sweet if there were a few prizes handed out at the end. it's more incentive to clean your car etc. 16th gives people more time to get cars going. i know i'll be rushing round last minute trying to buy stuff that i couldn't over the holidays cause shops were shut. oh and DATE is THE 16th
  20. yeah good idea. i'll start asking... inviting sponsors. these events don't exactly see a huge spectator turnout as such, as its a car owners meet, but then again its not widely advertised. i'd imagine that is what sponsors are gauging.. how much thier product or company is 'seen'. probably start a competition thing next time. due to the open (free) carpark and peoples coming/going the whole time it's a bit unco to organise a competition. (am i the procrastination king or what!) but come the following year i think a gated paddock/carpark is the go where a 'park n show' area kept separate from general spectator parking.
  21. that works out well then. might get a few more mazda's on this weekend too. 16th jan is the date. [/confusion]
  22. going with the 16th. cant make everyone happy. following year will find out opinions earlier! please post in auckland event thread from now. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=19626
  23. oh the other thing is BigDayOut on friday. i know there was quite few that attended both events last year. so next year i'll start poll earlier so can get a clear indication of best date.
  24. teehee im having a good chuckle. oh man well yes the main arguement was that out of towners will not have to travel two weekends in a row if wanting attend both events. i say this because generally speaking peoples from oldschool.co.nz are into both and even more so now that oldschool has a display at kumeu. but now you guys are saying that the people travelling from a distance are probably only attending either/or event anyway? the other possible option was to hold it on sunday.. but then this gives less time to recover/get home/fix car etc. ive gone and started advertising in other forums for the 16th so things will get rather wishy washy if i keep changing dates
