  1. Got a few things done, but not as much as i wanted to this weekend, Revoved drivers seat to fix the rails as it was hell hard to move seat. It took me HOURS. What a prick of a job. Remade the clutch cable bracket, The original is about 1.2mm steel, new one is 4mm, so should be alot stronger. Clutch is alot smoother now, found the clutch cable was fouling with the inside of the tube and had worn the tube away due the the angle changing from being cracked. Took a few trials to get the angle right on the new one. So much better to drive now. Also, added a Swap Meat 2013 sticker, as the drunken board meeting was its conception. And
  2. Pretty keen to keep standard hight. Just gonna leave everything standard...
  3. Yeah im starting to think i might keep wheels, just petty they arnt wider. Also...http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/ford/auction-636385296.htm
  4. ^ Wouldnt even bother keeping standard shocks anyway. You can now get ultra low king springs which will apparantly give a 70mm drop Is there anywhere that i can find out the spring rates of selected kingsprings or similar/what the standard falcon spring rates are?
  5. This is pretty much what i want to achieve but have 17" steels
  6. Four link rear. There are no real issues with getting the back low.
  7. Been looking at drop spindles for the front, turns out these things arnt so straight forward to lower as one would think. ball joint bind and all sorts of shit. Pretty keen on makita one ways for now.
  8. Also, needs some slam. I have been looking at spring options and there are a number, but they all sound like they fuck with the ride quality. I wonna keep the thing the same as it is now, its pretty firm, but not bouncy or anything so im thinking of getting a set of standard springs and choppy chop chop and see how it goes.
  9. Not really an update but now have it in Rotorua. The drive back from Palmerston North on sunday was lush. Man this things drives well and suprisingly not to bad on fuel. Plans at this stage? Fix this. Clutch cable mount is cracked, pretty sure this happens to 100% of manuel falcons. Reconnect the heater lines, yet to know why its been disconnected. Hoping its not a busted heater core, which it more than likely is. Clean this up and see why its leaking. Mite jjust get a whole new unit. They are cheap enough. loving the fact that i can just get everything new at reasanable prices. Couldnt get shit for the lancer.
  10. Yeah whats with the door handles always breaking on these things?
  11. Build Thread - //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/40234-ogres-1984-ford-xe-s-pac-falcon/ Shit, taken long enough, 8 years to come to my senses.
  12. Well this is the new WIP. Watch This Space Also, Sparkle you almost owe me $50 Discussion Thread - //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/40235-ogres-1984-ford-xe-s-pac-falcon/
  13. Yeah, would have been a good buy, talked to the guy abit and it had a few issues with it, still hanging out for mint 6 cyl XE sedan with huge turbo.
  14. Ogre

    Grinder blades

I get mine through hobeca, if i remember tomorrow ill pm you a price list, i think the flappers are a pretty good price and i cvan also get see through flappers which ive found real good for finishing ally and the like. Just make sure you are getting the right discs for your application, alot of places will try sell you INOX for doing steel, but they wear out real fast on steel/they dont care.
  15. Im keen on this thing: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/ford/falcon/auction-624633432.htm If there is someone on the Otago region that could give it a going over/see if does sweet skids would be much appreciated.
  16. Wow, ran outa breath reading that one. A bit of stretch always looks good, i think sparkles beema is pretty much perfect
  17. OK, slight update on this. Found a replacement bearing. Was a total pain in the ass getting the right size but ended up finding one. Pressed it in and spent what seemed like a lifetime getting it perfectly centered. Tacked in a few welds on the caps. Have just taken it for a test drive. Everything seems fine. There is a slight vibration when slowing down (i could just be to fussy), but it has always had that so maybe drive shaft needing a balance or somthing totally unrelated. All in all a mission successful.
  18. I havnt had any issues with it, its just failed WOF for play and after taking the old one out she was dry as a bone and 35 years old. Staked universal : Normal Circlip type Welded/Staked Universal. This seems abit nasty tho.
  19. Thanks guys, i think i may try this myself, and give the caps a tack. After all a UJ is only 30 odd bucks pending i can get the right ones to fit. I can always take it somwhere to get done properly if it all turns to shit.
  20. Yeah ive come across this too, and i have thought about it but it would be an issue getting things nice and centered. Surely it only needs to be out a tiny bit to create a world of vibration.
  21. ^yeah ive had a look at them, but its abit out of my technical ability to find the right ones, and no one here in Rotorua seems to have the knowledge/can be fucked finding them.
  22. Right, i have failed WOF on these little fuckers on my lancer. Sweet as i thought, rip them out, put some new ones in. I thought wrong. They are staked in. Ive managed to press the old one out fine, hoping there may be a recess there for circlips. Once again, i was wrong. Whats the general idea with servicing these? Obviously its not easy to just go get a replacement drive shaft etc. A drive shaft specialist can do something. Surely this isnt terribly uncommon with alot of datsuns and other japs with the staked UJs? Cable ties perhaps? Your feelings on this subject matter much appreciated.
