  1. We made 1.5v battery packs to heat flow plugs once upon a time. A (much smarter) friend and I filed the nickle playing off the batteries, and soldered them all together in parallel. Cheap nasty batteries, but the last one (where the wires came out) was an Energizer. So they all provided 1.5v, but the one expensive cell meant the voltage was reliably stable. (The internal resistance of a glow plug would quickly produce a voltage drop in an inferior battery.

Man did I get sick of spending my pocket money on glow plugs. (Cox 049 motors)

    This popped up today

This is a game changer, thanks Tortise!

I never knew this tool  existed.

One of the "been putting it off/too hard basket" jobs on my ute has been the heater hoses. (I need some pretty acute angles)

The tube bender springs arent even that spendy.

    https://hvactools.co.nz/product/imperial-spring-tube-benders/?attribute_sku=102-F-05&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4NujBhC5ARIsAF4Iv6e-PT_VMjIC5S0mVTXw8OJ5c9cvEvQWO08JcpHdZaQvMxRaGfSoBFYaAgNpEALw_wcB

I wonder how much/if the heat will shorten the life of the hose?

also fuck any dealerships for parts. never heard of any being reasonable except for perhaps suzuki apparently? but even then, from experience working in a dealership parts department, turning over 300k a month between three of us and even holding back invoices so friendly panel shops get an extra month to pay and we get to bank that invoice on next months bonus counter, cause we already made this month. fuck dealerships for parts. also cunt tax is real. be nice to them and the price may just go down...

Actual zero on a lithium battery is past the voltage  they go puffy and catch on fire

there will be a cutoff in the controller or battery pack well before that ( meter may say zero but the actual cell voltage will be at a safe minimum )

That will be why Li Io stuf runs as normal until it stops dead. Stinky old Ni Cad shite would just get slower and slower and slower.

Do you drain it to 0% often? That won't help it's lifespan as they don't like that. That's if 0% is actually flat anyway.

Could also come down to weight of rider and speed / load on the thing. Full nang probably less efficient so drain quicker.

It's been run "flat" twice from new.

And had maybe three charges from say 60%.

The other guy is about my weight, and we were both riding the same track.

  6. Lithium Ion batteries.

Does their performance improve after the first few charge cycles?

I had a pair of rechargeable hair clippers which stated this factoid in the instructions.

    True or horseshit?

I ask because my electric skateboard hit 0% yesterday, while a friend with an identical board, (bought after mine, but has seen more use) still had 25%. (And hed ridden further to get there too)

Tbh, I'm kinda fucked off about this.
