Do any of you guys know where you can get oldschool lowback bucket seats which resemble mk1 escort standard seats?? i want to put some better seats in my car but i dont want to ruin the look of it. I want it to be like, if someone looked at and knew that it was a mk1 escort but didnt know everything about them, they would say - hey mint standard interior. any help?? also, I would like to know if there are better rails you can put into mk1 escorts without losing the back seats or anything

i must say doing 155 in my car was done from miles to kms as my speedo only goes upto 140kph plus i have different wheels so very possible i was doing less, also i was reading a magazine a couple of weeks ago that was looking at car speedos and it said that a new ford falcon was actually doing 94 when the speedo says it was doing 100 so who can really trust their speedos unless they get a proper speed tester or something

i got a mk1 escort parts book a while ago, it has all 2 and 4 door and wagon parts except for anything relating to engines but it has all panels, dash stuff, interior, seats and suspension and other random stuff, of course the book is from england but it was used in a new zealand ford repair shop, i also have a mechanics mk1 repair book with what i think is all the wiring diagrams for mk1's including tacho's etc. so if anyone wants to know a part number or anything regarding these 2 books then just ask. it also has random info like mk1 1300xl's came with 6 dial dashes from 1972 onwards (only in england i assume), also on some things i can also give u the dimensions of bolts and screws. the parts book covers models including -1300e, gxl, xl, l, super, gt, standard, sport, twin cam, de luxe. it also has diagrams on banjo and koln rear axles and drive shafts, the pictures in the parts book arent there to show you how to put things together but i may be able to help with that too.

ive done 155 in 4th in my 1300, my cars got no seals on the windows so i couldnt hear anything at that speed so i dont know what my engine sounded like and no tacho

in my haynes manual it says all mk2 1600s had 3.545:1 but that is british so it may be different

well after that i ended up getting a type E instead of a type 3, hope the type E fits just as easily

does anyone know if a type 3 gearbox will go straight onto a 1600 crossflow?? i think it does but just wanna make sure. its the single rail version of a 2000E gearbox found, its found on cortina mk2, cortina mk3 1.3/1.6/1.6gt, cortina mk4/5 1.3,1.6(not gt), lotus cortina 69-, capri mk1 -8/72 1.6 OHV, capri mk1 2.0 v4 and sierra 1.6

hey is it worth getting a set of these for my mk1 escort?? mexico drums are bigger at 9x1.75inches but is there any difference with the rs axles compared with normal axles?? also how hard are the bigger drums and axles to put on my car and is it worth it??

how can u tell if it was assembled by ford?? in the haynes manual it said that only rs1800's and mk2 rs2000's came with 32/36 dgav's
