  1. dont think early maz had any adjustment . i slotted the strut top mounting holes on my old rx2 to slide strut over towards guard to straighten up after lowering
  2. a filter in or under the engine bay is a good thing in older cars unlees u have new fuel lines. it helps stop scale from old lines cloging injectors etc . some modern cars have 2 1 at back by pump and 1 in engine bay. injection hates dirty fuel

best guess is shortened falcon lsd with 3.55 ratio [stock for ute] get the lsd reshimmed to tighten it and use good quality lsd oil. with your supercharged torque 3.55 would be sweet. 200rwkw out of a pinto is pretty ambitious good luck. any decent engineer should be able to shorten diff $400 sounds a little cheap but then uve got brakes to set up master cyl ,handbrake and other bits ive forgotten. i did this conversion on a mk2 esky sport with a p76 v8 in early 90s diff was bullet proof and we did heaps of skids
  4. how many ks has it done? most holden v8s usually due for a cam change at about 250kms depending on how its been driven. they get noisy, if u change the lifters and the cam is worn the new lifters will wear into the cam quickly and begin rattling also. run some injector cleaner through it they get a varnish like build up on them and cuts down their efficentcy. what bolts are ya talkin about to change oil just requires undoing of bottom bung draining and refilling from side bung then do both up tight. [make sur u do the bottom 1 up b4 u refill]
  5. whats wrong with it ? ive owned a few of these and have picked up a bit of knowledge along the way i may be able to help.
  6. nah sorry man i got nuthin too busy enjoying life cruzin on the dark side[ford]

that is because when they machine the new spline on the axle when it is shortened they machine thru the factory 'hardening' which is in the outermost layer of the metal. thus making the new axle actually weaker than the original one. some machinists cut the axle away from the spline and weld it together making a 'v' then filling with weld. BRE engineering here uses this method and garantee the axle wont break. the fact is ANY heating of thr metal will weaken it to a certain extent. the guy i work with is using BRE axles in his 10sec rx3 and he hasnt busted one yet. he has 300kw @wheels and dumps clutch at 9000rpm on slicks so they cant be that bad.
  8. yeah copper is a no no bundy tube is the go benders and cutters are cheap too less than $50 for both at supercheap good fun pissing around with it too

yeag u might b right callum early ford is mostly 28spline but some of the later ford/holden could be 31 not sure on that one
  10. dont the auto locks work on a speed sensor when u stop they should unlock no? ah fuck what the fuck do i no
  11. usually they like u to have an external way of opening the doors eg pull knob. incase of an accident and u are unconsious they have to be able to gain entry to the veichle

are u sure your aussie diff is a 3.75 ratio ive owned a couple of 4.1 cortys and most are 2.75ratio or 2.92 which is the same as most falcons xr-xf .utes are all 3.5 xcept v8s which are 2.92 or 3.25. also vl-vp commy heads are also same vn 2litre are 4.11 ratio vl 3lt are 3.45. nissan navara ute is also borg warner 78 series
  13. get a vh 44 remote booster off a cunter put it under the front guard or do a van pedal box conversion [all under dash] or ditch the booster and harden up ya pussy start doing squats holding heavy steel in ya lunchtime to strenthen legs race cars dont have boosters helps save weight
  14. yep procoat is good got the headers on the corty done cost $240 for both so a 4cyl turb manifold prolly around $160-180
  15. dont know wether mini tubs would require a cert or not not really structural mod no chassis mods etc and how many places would pick it up if it was a good job anyway
  16. yup on mk1 capri v6 tried about a 6000rpm clutch dump[dump prick]
  17. yeah thats what happened to mates car snapped the main leaf just down abit from the eye. was on a big launch and punched the broken end thru the boot floor
  18. they were off a ma 61 soarer but celica ones r same offset was perfect had to get plate made to centre rotor on hub then bolted on was done by certed engineer cost $100 rotors $20bucks from wrecker $35 bucks to surface grind $80 bucks for calipers $100 for custom brake lines sweet as and alot easier to find than 2.8 capri struts etc
  19. i used volvos on the mk2 with toyota disc rotors, ya only have to slot em about 2-3 mm each hole so its f-all . mine had a mk3 corty master cyl and no booster and stopped real hard. only cost about $300 for entire conversion.
  20. how about some buckets in the back? with a custom full length console , that would look phat and prolly not too hard to do[maybe]
  21. dunno about lighter than a pinto but definatly ligher than a ford v6. i had a mk2 sport with a p76 for a while in the days b4 certs . we just cut the firewall out sat the motor + trans in there and made mounts to suit. would never pass now days. but theres plenty of mk4/5 cortys gettin round with v8s of all descriptions. its alot easier in the aussie ones as the front susp/brakes/diff/ trans tunnel are all upgraded for the falcon 6
  22. yeah thats true but i think id still rather have a half cage than nothing if ya fliped it on its lid
  23. im pretty sure it applies to all types of roll cage . ryans 3 only has a half cage if he runs any qiker than a 10.0 he will need to upgrade to a full cage
  24. mate from works cage in his rx 3 goes thru parcel tray and on to boot floor behind wheel centre line. the cage has been homoligated and the car is certed. the other thing is that if u have a cage u have to remove the rear seat for it to be legal. somthin to do with rear seat passenger safety.

    Brakes dont work?

zetec has it right but you get a can bleeding hose that has a one way valve in it so ya dont have to open and close the nipple every pump, you just open the nipple and place the end of the bleeder tube in a container of brake fluid and pump until bubbles stop coming out. always start with the furtherest away wheel from the master cyl. if it doesnt work DONT fuck around take it to a brake specialist and get it sorted. roaring up to a corner jumping on the picks and the pedal going to the floor is a fuckin scary feeling must have multiple posts goin on at once. my sister reaction disc fell out of her HQholdy it made the brakes like a 'hair trigger' just breathe on the pedal and it would lock up
