  1. personally i wouldnt be mounting it under a seat with no air flow to cool it down
  2. it bolts up to auto, not sure what its gonna be like, gonna wack some new oil in it when i have the motor in then asses the situation
  3. yeah but theyre sort of a oddball, the l23 shit that should fit in theory just dont aye, from everything ive read the l23 sump doesnt work but im gonna find out why, weither it just be mounting holes in which case ill just plug em all and re drill em to suit
  4. yeah im prob just gonna grab one off a b1600/ will buy a new low pressure one, do it once etc had the motor sitting in, the l26 sump was about 10mm if that out of clearing the crossmember, am gonna take both sumps off tommorow see if the l23 one will work some how, if not ill cut the l26 one off and weld it up to suit
  5. There's a 280 electric fuel pump on trade me, they ran a l28 or something didn't they, surely that electric fuel pump would do the job
  6. anyone got a mechanical one for sale?
  7. yeah will let you know, was that l26 mechanical or electrical fuel pump?
  8. yeah ive had a few b1600s with drum brake fronts, have converted them in the past and made the world of difference, when you gonna throw some build threads up dude, had to be a forum member to see that link you sent me the other day
  9. well l23s ready to come out, and a l26 has found its way into my garage. few differences, starter motors are on different side which will easily be over come as they just attach to the sandwich plate so ill run the l23 one. water hose is on a different size so will just be a matter of running longer pipe for now. have got the brakes un siezed, brake shoes in front seem kinda low so will be getting them re lined, rears still have quite a bit of meat so will leave them for now. considering its drum all round i may get re vin and then look into doing something else later on down the track with putting some dics on. have started the rust repairs, have started on rear right door, ready for patchs on the outside. couple doors need some patchs, couple are still solid, both front guards require a repair at the bottom. one rear guard needs a small patch, whole front of bonnet needs new steel, overall wasnt as bad as i was expecting. floors are all really solid, probably due the the inch thick layer of grease on the under side of the car. anyway heres some pics, l23 ready to come out, note the sweet exhausts they have heres the l26, will throw in some new frost plugs and paint the block then wack it in one night this week couple interior shots for you piners
  10. would be keen on a wednesday night burger and burgers and beers
  11. not really better pics but ohwell, did a wee bit on it last night, just getting ready to take motor out, might have a look at brakes tonight, are siezed big time, unboosted drums all round. should be interesting
  12. would damn near purchase anything at all you dont want, do however need a hubcap, and one of the turny knobs for the front widnows
  13. looks like it should have been a 69 but was registered as a 70, its a mk4 http://www.earlydatsun.com/nissan130mk4.html
  14. judging by all the personal six 2300 badges that are on it it would be a l23 yea?
  15. currently has a l23 but is fucked
  16. yeah id say l24 would be my easiest for re vin, shouldnt be to overly hard to source one locally but thanks for the offer none the less ky.
