  1. Have agreed on $550 inclusive of freight to Gisborne. Deal you rekon? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =114526080
  2. Dam that listing for those tsw's has closed. any idea what he wanted for them? could be good at the right price. Thanks Callum, i think that ratio would be a little low though! Any idea how hard it is to get an LSD ratio around 3.5 for them? Cheers Matt
  3. cool man, have heard its hard to get decent ratios with the hilux rear end though?
  4. thanks for that guys. The cars back in gizzy so i cant really borrow your wheels but thanks anyway man. what're the wheels your mate has for sale as i'll probably end up buyin new so would be good if i could just get some second hand ones in good condition. @Callum, falcon could be another option. Its still only gonna be a 1600 though so could be a bit overkill for the small motor? Rays looks pretty good though and it could be a cheap LSD option if i got Ray to do it. Decisons. Whats your conversion gear for the rear 114 methodz? like a whole diff? Cheers Matt
  5. Cool thanks for that, back to welly in the morn but i'll have a good look into it next time im back. Thats another thing too though, it might be better to convert to 114.3x4 as i'll have way more options for wheels and the whole rear end. Matt
  6. Oh right, i should have clicked that the roller was yours. If getting tyres wide enough to full out the guards meant i had to goto a slightly higher profile i'd have to really. Biscuts under big guards look stupid as. The 70s looking pretty nice huh, i quite like those wheels you've got on it. Were those workshop manuals any good? Matt
  7. true, haven't looked that deeply into it but even 45s would be mint. Yep Yep, my panel beater seems to know what hes doin so he should be able to roll them out, or cut them if he has too. should really buy the wheels first. Anyone got any ideas on some otehr styles? Car will be metallic blue (blueprint falcon blue) if it helps. Cheers
  8. that mk1 definatly looks nice, those are forrest flares though yea?
  9. yea fully agree Mikuni, that datsun looks good like that. any ideas on some wheels that are a similar style with a more rear wheel drive offset? only so much fat tyres can do! need something to full the guards up. flares are bolt on but will be fibreglassed to the body, its a reasonably mild flare too, not forrest or xpack or anythin. cheers matt
  10. Apex R's also like this kinda style for a bit of dish... Cheers for the advice, will definatly be putting on the fibreglass flares and my panel beater said he has a tool for properly rolling the inside, just wanted me to check if anyone else has had trouble with rubbing. The 15's with 40profile should work out about the same size as the factory 13s with 60 or 70profile accoring to the calculators on the net. Cheers Matt[/url]
  11. hey boes Hopefully my cars gonna start gettin paneled in the next couple of weeks (once WDE_BDY gets the Uterus out of the shed) and i just wanna find out about the wheels before the guards are flared. I've got bolt on fibreglass flares and im lookin at TSW Apex R's or something similar (any other ideas coz im not 100% sure?, would also like something with some dish but new school). Will be lookin around 40x215 (rear anyway) for tyres. The inside of the guard will be rolled anyway but just wonderin if anyones got any advice about rubbing or whether they look stupid? Cheers Matt p.s Mk2 escort coupe
  12. sweet, good to know aye. Will be finished studyin at the end of the year so once im workin can put the money in and just get it done. Matt
  13. Car looks nice man, im gonna be back in giz next week and wouldn't mind comin and checkin it out. Also have a spare round grill with the F O R D if you want it Cheers Matt
  14. Yey hellraizer, im gonna be back in giz next week or the week after, would be cool to come round and check out your esky.
  15. Oh ok thats good to know then. Good to hear from someone whos done it, the guys a Fisher Automotive said i'd probably need to use 2 headgaskets to bring the comp back down a bit What else have you done to yours man? are you just using the standard fuel pump or have you gone electric? Cheers Matt
  16. Thats good then. Have you got a 1600 in your van bro? i might have to come check it out. Matt
  17. hey, thanks man. What work have you done to yours? I still need to get this bored out and put together but apart from that the engines all there (apart from plugs etc.) I've been told that with these manifolds its best to cut out that bit in the middle that says devlo so they're not connected as the vibrations through there can make them crack. prolly bullshit though
  18. Discussion Link: //oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=10639 Brought the car off Stacov a couple of years ago, pretty standard 1600. Since then its been gutted, sold the motor & gearbox and ripped out all the interior. Just waiting till i get enough money together to get in paneled and painted properly. Body Came with kings in the front which i'll probably end up keeping for now. Will be getting the rear leaves reset and chuckin in some 2" lowering blocks. Kept the downdraught webber off this motor to use for running in the new motor as i dont really wanna be muckin round tuning the twin webbers while running in a new engine. Will be getting new carpets and have a sports instrument cluster for it but other than that i'll probably just tidy it up some and get some recarros at a later stage. will be usin that wheel. Fibreglass flares from fibreglass auto replacements in Gizzy. Will also get a front air dam from them (make them pretty cheap if anyones looking). Then the body just needs to be paneled, rust wise its pretty good with only a few bits in the typical places. Quarter bumpers in serious need of some chrome. Engine New cobys New Fast Road/Rally cam from Kelford in Christchurch, might be a bit lumpy for round town but will have to wait and see. Cars mainly gonna be for gettin back and fourth from welly to gizzy so not really worried. Intake manifold for the side suckers, also from Kelford down south. Oversize 1300 pistons, still not sure if im going to use them yet as i've heard differnt things about being able to run that compression on pump gas. Some people say it'll be sweet but some say i'll need 2 headgaskets to lower the compression. Pistons will also need to be machined coz of the cam. Any advice in this area would be appreciated. Duplex timing chain kit, also from Kelford. High pressure / High volume oil pump from Burton power in the UK. Balanced Crank, told its from a Formula Ford. Was brought off trade me so it'll be tested before its used. Electronic Dizzy Head Supply & fit hardened inserts x 4 158.00 Strip & clean head 18.00 Bead blast & acid clean head 32.00 Crack test head 24.00 Reface valves 28.00 Reface Seats 38.00 Reface head 40.00 Clean & assy 44.00 Oversize valves 105.00 Port & polish & match to manifolds 200.00 Double Valve Springs 193.00 ============================================ Total $963.33

  22. We were playin at the one at dog and bone up lambton. its all through the NPPL and main prize is a WSOP seat. (have to go through heaps of tourneys to get there though). Im keen for some games when i get back down. Matt
  23. Have you got a spare single piece from an auto Methodz? Matt
  24. i spent about a grand working my xflow head. that inclused port/polish, biggest valves they could go, and double valve springs. plus crack testing, hardened seats and all that. not cheap! Matt
  25. Pretty sure its not a MIVEC engine, its my flatmates car. Cheers heaps for the info guys. Matt
