ok, jack up your escort at the back, and spin one wheel. if the other spins in the oposide direction then you have a standard open diff. if they go the same way then you have an lsd or a locker. the idea of your escort having an lsd is not very likely. what kind of esky is it? 1600, 2lt pinto? driving with a locker on a windy bit of road is like pushing shit to the outside of a corner. usually when going round the corner the outside wheel travels faster as it has a lenghtier distance to travel. with a locker they both wanna go the same speed, therefore going straight till they loosed grip and you just hang it out to dry and drift it large.
hehe on a side note, me and a mate matt blacked his hiux, then we wanted to dump the suker. anyway we didnt get that far but we knew the lsd was worn. didnt take much of him holding and me spinning to brake it. lsds wear out people! esp after 300,000k lol.
