    1600 Xflows

    your 32/36 will be sweet and you wont have to re-jet it as long as its in good nick and tune. for the cam try and track down a engine rebuilder that has played with crossflows before and many oldschool fellas have. i took my cam to Glendene engine rebuilders and the guy -John had 2 or 3 other crossflows there being worked on. they can do various grinds including GT and up... If you stick in some valves that are bigger than 1600 xflow ones you will have to mod your new pistons cause the valves WILL be hitting them.. just sumtin to keep in mind...

    would have a fukin clue bout cozzies bro, but when i rebuilt my xflow the aftermarket gasket i got for that had huge holes too, where the one that came off it had partially blocked ones like yours. Im still usin it and its still goin hard. engine never really gets hot at all, usually just over the cold line... dunno
  3. hell no. thats the beauty of old fords dude.. just bolt a cortina/capri/escort/sierra box straight up to your xflow. no adapter plate rubbish neede
  4. dunno for shure, but if type 4/9 bolts up good i dont see any reason this one wouldnt. sounds like a good match... about 85%shure itll fit dude

    try fuckin with the dizzy, maybe . undo that cunt of a little screw on the dizzy base and twist it round, see what happens(??)

    nah ,im shure there was another dude with a kingy.. but like the man said.. measure the lenght of the box and compare them both, then have a look at the mounts on the gearbox and the mount holes and compare. also have a look at both rear ends of the boxes to see if the spleens match. if you cant use the same d/shaft, its always easy enough to get a auto one and a manual one and make a hybrid..
  7. dunno if they can be adapted, but might be cheaper to drop in a whole strut assembly in there instead... better for upgrades in the long run2
  8. did you manage to suss it bro? i know on the eskys i can put a scissor jack in between the sway bar and the chassis to push the shock assembly down for room.... the mitsi's lookin sweet 2!

  10. try and get your dirty mits on a trolley jack on put the whole assembly on that. support it with one arm and try to suss it with the other hand. Im trying to get a hold of a damn trolley and axle stands myself- fukt the clutch last night

  13. yeah.. HC... thats been resolved already. thaaaanx but on the bracket thing, its a funny one I had to make my own as well, it wasnt bolting in the right place so i made up a plate which it bolts onto and then that plate bolts onto the manifold.. colour coded with the car and engine

    dont think reseting your leafs will stiffen it up much. new lowered leafs cost about as much as resetting your ones. check the king springs catalogue if they stock ones for your car- they have the catalog downloadable from their site. wether you need new shocks or not depends how much you lower it, if you need to its easy enough to just shorten them when youre taking the leafs out anyways. regardless theres a place in penrose that does the resetting.

    for the port n polish definately do it prof, bro. i had mine done by Leading Edge heads, theyre quite onto it, look them up. theyre in e.t.. as for all my block work... u can look up Glendene rebuilders, i think the guys name is john simpson(?). quite good and hes gotta mean race capri in there. also the guy workin next doors gotta mk1 escy on 17 evo Rs haha

    lol yep! i had a mean little turbo lancia delta a year or so ago. mean wagon for $900 with mean rust. did the hell late night bog job on the a-pillars (bwuahaha ) and took it for a wof next morning to an "undisclosed garage" *cough* *cough* and SWEET! even got a comment for "good accident repair" or sumtin similar- cracked me up!

  23. shouldnt costa ya too much to install bo. as long as your escy used to be auto. if its a manual than someones gonna have to butcher the tranny tunnel, so good luck gettin quotes for that, but it is a minimal fabrication jobbie...
  24. hey wudup! can someone help? i get a mean noise from my mk1 at motorway speed. running a worked 1700 hundy with 5spd and 1300 auto diff (hehe oops) but apart from the regular noise at high speed it started making this "droning" noise and when i get off the motorway the noise slowly winds down. does it at anythin over 70km. does it sound like diff? che che buddaz

    haha. yep. me3. had this problem as well when i got rid off the single throat puss of a standard carby. had to fabricate the accelerator mount from scrap metal. color coded it to the rest of my mk1 so it aint that bad. How much you want for that ghia shell bro?
