    TE gemini

The engine bays are similar I'm led to believe, jsut different engine mounts and stuff. If you look in a gemini the gearstick is quite far foward and in a Chevette they are in the normal place. I'm not sure if the trans tunnels are the same or not tho. They also might run different X-Members.
  2. Dude, yeah. Well I noticed it on my car straight away. You don't need the choke either.
  3. I would be a mission to make it carb if you want to keep it turbo. If you want a 4AGE carb'd engine, redline make a twin sidey manifold.
  4. DVLRCR: Because it all already works fine! You don't wanna have to start pissing around with things like that if you don't have to.
  5. I rekcon you could pick one for for about $30 on TradeMe. DVLRCR: If its gonna be supercharged or turbo and it's already EFI, I wouldn't go trying to change it to carby. That's just silly.
  6. Why don't you just get a 32/36 or something? They are piss cheap and you'll definately notice the difference.
  7. Still, put the 32/36 on the 2lt, you'll notice the diff. Or if you want something a bit better, how about a 34ADM from a Falcon?

Lowlancer vs Defcon vs Someone with a 2door Mk2 with a Pinto, oh yeah. Meremere track day, oh baby! Anyway, on topic. I know you are on HotGemini, and I gather you missed this thread: http://www.hotgemini.com/viewtopic.php?t=27513&start=0

Apparantly 65kw, but they are good engines. I've heard of 12 second 1/4s NA. 2.3 4ZD1 = 81kw 2.6 4ZE1 - 88kw but EFI so much more potential, a good few hundy HPs is not to shabby from one.

No, I said you could build the motor for $10 grand, but if he only has $10gs to spend on the entire car, then it's not gonna happen. Saying that, they are very good engines, I have heard of at least 3 pushing around 600hp with no hassles.

the 4ZE1 would be my pick. 2.6 lt 4 cyc EFI. You can either use the gem or a rodeo gearbox and they prety much drop onto the standard mounts. For 10 grand I rekcon you could turbo that, but only if the $10gs were for the engine alone. And this is not talking things like forged pistons (although you can buy them off the shelf in Aussie ) I rekcon just work the 2.6 NA it'd go like a dream.
  12. They're talkin about the vr4 engine, I think
  13. I'd go the 2tg, just to be different. Everyone puts 4ages in old corollas these days. Plus, 'of the era' performance is the shit

    That was the word
  15. Will take pics of the 17s when the camera is charged. I'm pretty happy with them aye, offset was mint

ACL Umm, I can't remember how it's spelt. Lots of vowels and shit, anyway, they're good.
  17. I would say that they most probably are, but don't quote me on it. Have a look on trademe, there are usually some dudes wrecking geminis.

Repco can get you ACL pistons. They are stock hypatec (or how ever you spell it) replacements, 30% stronger. They also come with ring. Also, some cars offer a few types, high comp, etc.

    Bumpstops

Or, alternatively, go to a wreckers and steal some shorter ones from another car.

    Bumpstops

Try heating them up to smooth them. A lighter might just do the trick?
  21. Get an uno turbo engine and strap that puppy in there. My mate has one, they go unbelievably hard for what they are. Especially when you're hitting 20psi

    wheel bearing

Couldn't you just try differen't sizes that look right?

    The Shock Poll

I was gonna get some Koni's for the front, but they are too expensive for my car as I have to import them! Could only find reds too

    The Shock Poll

Yeah I heard the same thing! I have gas Tokico's all round, car rides pretty well. Well, I like it anyway.
