in the 80s you could get c & e series isuzu with cummins and detroit.

fuso changed their name to mitsi coz of early issues with thier v8s.

then changed it back to fuso late 90s for similar haha

I think the change back to Fuso in NZ came about when a couple of wheels came adrift off a couple of different Mitsis and caused a bit of motorway mayhem. There may have even been a death or two.

Hmmmm let's change the name so it looks like it wasn't us.

At this time if your Mitsi truck went in for mechanicals or a service it came back with Fuso badges lol.

Brian Gill put Fuso on the map in NZ. The 2nd Fuso in NZ was a dump truck, and I was at Winstones when it came into the workshop...we thought it was pretty cool, and was 5 speed with a 2 speed aux. The 1st Fuso was  at RFL, and I don't remember No1, but I sure would've worked on it and driven it. The RFL Fusos had a 12 speed Roadranger, 4 speed with a range and gear splitter. They pulled A Trains - a dolly under and it was a trailer, plugged into that semi. With a full load 1st gear just wound them up, front wheels off the ground, and hold your hand on the roof when you went for 2nd, because she was going right up again. Just a truck when I was there, better trucks in the fleet to drive around the yard than a Fuso. No Detroits in them when I was there...but they were too gutless compared to the others....Cummins powered Kenworths, a couple of Cummins powered Octopus, and Mercedes.

    Then the Mack's came along.

  4. Welcome to Milwaukee. As @RUNAMUCK says the grinders are awesome. I still have my original one from the kit and I cant kill it. Awesome for tidying up welds with a flapper wheel.

If you work with timber the multitool is a must have. The leaf blower is also a great piece of kit, you will never use a broom to sweep again and they are sweet for helping a fire to take hold.

I have just purchased the grease gun. Love it. Makes those pesky pre start proceedures much more enjoyable.
