Plenty of room for improvement. Cleaned all of the valves today, CC'd the head and dropped it off for a big skim last week, dug some GSXR1100 cams out of the spares box today
First shiny stuff arrived earlier this week. Now these are joined by fork springs and an ignitech.R1 shock is re-sprung, and needs a shave for clearance in the linkage. Carb parts are off for machining to try and get teh MJN needles to fit.

Dropped of to @Mr Vapour this evening
Factory flatslides will be modified for the bigger engine
Not sure yet how I'm going to fit the Yoshimura MJN needles into these carbs yet, but I'll give it a go. I may yet run this bank of carbs on my 750- 2

@cletus, do you have any contacts for LVV cert on a motorcycle? I'm looking at doing an engine swap which would increase CC rating from 750 to 1200

@Mof Diaphragm clutch fingers can come away from the flywheel as the clutch plate wears, it depends on where the pivot points are in the clutch cover.http://what-when-how.com/automobile/diaphragm-spring-clutch-automobile/

Yep. Will get a better picture next time I'm in Whangarei

How will that help? Pic doesn't show it very well, but there are a couple of bends there. Where it is welded to the floor is not affected though.

Wheelbase, weight, and suspension all play a part as well. Same as on a bike

Looks like great fun. Please make a heat shield for that pod, it's as big an improvement as changing the dump pipe, and cheaper.

From my understanding MAP sensors measure absolute pressure, that being pressure above a total vacuum (like in space). Bearing that in mind, they should self correct for altitude in an NA application, and the point is moot in a forced induction application.
If you've mapped for partial load using MAP, then the ECU will theoretically use that part of the map even at WOT

Scania's image archive has loads of old gear on it. Some are even kiwi trucks

Have taken 2mm off the head to get the compression ratio close to where I want it at 12:1, took some bravery to instruct the machinist to let rip.
