the problem is trying to find one... surely if the dizzy is fukt then itll have shaft play and things wouldnt it?

itll spark once every 2 or 3 cranks...while its popping back through the carby..

its a normal type... ie: cap,dizzy base,leads,rotor,module on the outsude,internals looks like pointy flying saucersLOL 2 wires coming out of the dizzy..

rotor sits in locater sweet as.. ive checked firing order etc.. 153624 off the top of my head.. from wat was set on the dizzy at tdc the no.1 the rotor was pointing to 4 o'clock looking perpendicular to the block..

does the rotor actually touch the little knobby things in the cap? also is the rotor supposed to be "winged" tip?my one seems to sit about 3mm from the little knobby bits... no.6 plug was wet,all others were bone dry... i dont know now ae..dizzy is definately spinning too. fuel pump is working fine. power to the coil..

went to take it off the truck yesterday,wouldnt fire.. thought everything was wet(ign) so i cleaned everything up,now it just pops through the carb every 5 secs off cranking or so.. wont start up at all.. havent changed anything eiether

what would cause a engine to start backfiring through the carby?

get radiator flushed,get engine tuned,change thermostat,run antifreeze,thermo fan. do skids.

mate get your arse over to "safe r exhaust" see john,he is the man. i took our legacy to pitstop and magoos,they said they couldnt fix the crack in the muffler,i didnt wanna pay $200 for a new one for a wof,so john just gassed the bitch back together..$40 later and it passed.. up yours pitstop

it seems no-one has a escort rusting away in the corner of the back yard anymore. cos i cant find a fukn engine or box crossmember anywhere.. i have the stock 1300 and box just waiting to go back in once i get the crossmembers. still have the seats due to the sale falling through...pitty...not.. got a set of factory headers and exhaust to pick up for it. the one i had on it was shit as,sounded crappy,looked crappy,was crappy.. will put it all back together and put a twin throat carb on it if i can find one under $150 with manifold...to me the cheaper=the better.. then ill get it all legit and flick it off...

im fuckn isolated as...like 5hrs to chch.3hrs to greymouth.. we aint got shit all wreckers with anything decent.. and im pissed right now..

are the mk4/5 1600 ohc motors any good? cant find any 2l down here.. and will they bolt into a mk2 esky the same as the 2l will? cant see why it wouldnt but you never know ae.. cheers.....by the way im not after serious power,just want it to run and do a skid or 2...or maybe 3...

f you dont have a flexi in your exhaust and you have a vibration it can make it leak,or crack the exhaust..

pft...ill cut it off in 6 months looking at the car and at the truck in my projects thread i think it may just fit without having to extend it...heres hoping ae... i could always just let the arse hang over the back
