in my stockcar im gonna be using a hilux surf p/s box. this will be mounted on a pedestal kind of thing,on the end where the pitman arm bolts on it has been converted to a shaft with a drop arm out the side... now, in a stocky you want slightly quicker steering..... i think most people go 2:1 steering by using timing gears and chain off some old school engine.. what i want to know or have been thinking of is there is an old m-bike frame sitting in my shed, i think its an old yammy as theres a 125 sitting there too ( for sale??? maybe)... the gears on it are a 51 tooth on the rear wheel and a 14 on the engine... if i could use this it would make it a 3.6:1 is this right???? i suck at maths.... would this make the steering basically 1/4 turn centre to lock on the wheel??? or somewhere near that anyway.. or would it just make the steering feel heavy? up for deals swapping the bike engine for timing gears etc...

got one for my escort but found the inlet/outlets were waaaay too small.. but if you could get the ports bigger or changed then itd work sweet

what colour is the oil on the dipstick and is there a creamy buildup under the oil cap?? creamy buildups are bad,never touch a chick with this..

picked up my new ride today between rain storms and hail and thunder n lightning... fukn weather.. was a bitch getting it on the trailer.. glad i put on backwards cos it only just fits... its real wide in the front end.. got it home and couldnt resist putting the new body on it..

the new chassis... this was taken when it was first built.. yet to pick it up.

have ditched the thought of building from scratch.. Have had a look at a space frame chassis tonight and made a deal for it so in 2 weeks my old flat chassis will make its way to nelson and the following day the new chassis will be picked up.. the best bit is the new chassis is only 3mins from home pics to come when i get it here.. already got a parts list going on: hilux/surf p/s box monster tach 60mm gauges switches speedway bellhousing hq driveshaft hq clutch plate corolla cable type shifter brake booster (real small diameter) falcon calipers 5x114 disc and any type of caliper 4 eye-eye shocks quick release hub steering wheel mirrors thermo fan alternator and brackets for falcon p/s hoses muffler seatbelts window net so if anyone has any of these bits let me know..i have until october to get it finished. the new chassis is set up with: front beam and links hilux diff and links firewall engine mounts for falcon 6 steering arms and draglinks bonnet radiator spare front beams and wheel gates

you can get flywheels to suit off the shelf.. ecotech would be the best option...

i sold my chassis now i will have cash to buy copius amounts of steel to build a new one..

thanks to the ultimate GC d.p.n.s i scored a engine and gearbox crossmember set.. and a radiator.... so waddled out to the shed this morning....engine and box now back in.. and the tunnel is undersealed... wont have any issues with the box getting too hot pics to come...

update: had this on trademe in jan..sold for $300.. but now they still have paid for it or picked it up.. so will be getting it back together.. bolted the box up to the motor today,starter on,still turns over on starter.. waiting for the crossmembers to be sourced,then ill slap it all back in.. put some gtx or other shite jappa seats in it.. find an old codger at a garage to do a wof then use it as a daily to work..

had a few ts185s when i was farming,but the er185 version.. were alright,i wouldnt rave about them...but as a cheapy furk yeah.. take the rear half of the pipe off and they sound good hahaha
