MUAHAHAHAHAHA..... ill see how she tows and wind it up from there,haha. just gotta watch the temps... is it easy enough to wind in some fuel on them? ive heard of guys playing with the timing aswell to get more power out of bighorns... im keen but dont want it to be a hand grenade....reliability is key...
  2. also found a laurel with a ld28-t on tardhole.. used a l20et manifold and a 300zx turbo...running 5psi... should be good for 8-10psi wouldnt it aslong as its reasonably healthy inside

  6. hahaha i actually pictured lake pipes on it but not with a diesel ae...unless theres no baffling at all...haha yeah i couldnt really picture the van cammoed looking all that good either.. maybe just dark green kinda like the base colour on the stockcar.. my trailer will also be getting a enclosed tyre rack and be painted the same as the van... need to look pro......lol
  7. the back of the van will get lined with 5mm mdf, or ply, and a shit load of little hooks on it to hang my spanners and shit on, racks for pliers and other tools, so i dont have to take a tool box with me, theyll be there allready clinging to the walls.. it comes with a back seat which is good,parts compartments will go under the seat for hubs, calipers and other bullshit bits of mass importance... ill get one of those little compressors from supercheap and mount it under the van and have a hose at the rear door,and a switch to turn it on... its gonna be sweeeeet decking it out... itll get a simple cd/mp3 player, 6x9s and some components up front,thats all, never had any decent sounds since i was a youngin.... itll get dropped for sho, dont know if any rims will fit it other than whats on it... but pics of boosted skids will be shown asap!!!!!!!!!!!! pitty its auto, but that may change if the auto is shit

  10. discuss here > viewtopic.php?f=18&t=24289 yo, just scored an auction on tardhole...$415 thank you very much please cum again.... auction details were: 1981 transit van Was set up as a camper LD 28 turbo diesel 4sp auto Dyna power steering box Subaru front discs and calipers Toyota discs at rear Subaru leone seats 4 good tyres Certified Engine runs, smokes alot, possible turbo seals? so will go pick it up, get it home, check the turbo out. if the turbo is sweet ill just look for another motor to drop in it.. should be easy enough.. will lower it a tad to ease the towbar tongue loading as my trailer is quite low.. looks like someones put some effort into it, its even got a tacho, hope its for the diesel... win

  12. are all ld28s the same/interchangable? and did they come out turboed? reason i ask is i was looking at getting a van with an ld28 d-turbo in it.... the guy doesnt know if its a factory turbo or not... but either the turbo or rings are poked cos it smokes...white-blue(death).. its a matty b tranny van thats been on tardme, its lol as.. has had disc conversion and ld28 conversion all certed... im pretty sure the ld28 could handle towing... or are they just a big sack of poohs?

  14. gunmetal grey on these looks sweet ae.. non standard colours ie what it is now, yellows etc, nah, dont look good on them... i actually love seeing these is the mazda beige and other period colours(no not your mrs monthly reds) for $500 just go for a hilux conversion...but i dont know if the diff needs to be shortened or not... anyway i think it was a worthy swap unless your vr4 was an epic weapon of collectable goodness, which they arent...the vr4 evo0 are cool though..

  18. what made me really think of this again, was a 3l 24v dohc luce motor,ecu and loom for 300 thats up for grabs... the klze is that the 2.5l?
  19. this is for all you folk who seem to be able to put any engine into any car... how do you adapt an engine to a gearbox that doesnt bolt up? id like to put a mazda v6 into our proceed seeing as nothing is selling these days.. ive been told no other engines will bolt up to the proceed gearbox (except a 13b if you swap bhousings), i dont want a rotor in it, im over those... a v6 will give me a bit more pow for towing...a luce v6 has 193hp as opposed to the proceeds 121hp or there abouts..... i have thought about putting a ht18 turbo on the g6 proceed motor, cos ive got one here in the shed, it should work ok as the proceed has fairly low compression, however i think the injectors wouldnt be up to it.... so, any thoughts/advice/offers of engineering greatness on how to get a v6 to bolt up to the box... a v6 will fit as ive seen a proceed on tardme with a holden 6 in it....

  21. ok found out its got a 245 head on it.. but has been rebuilt with new valves etc at some stage.. may look at getting a 265 head and getting it decked by 30th, i think its about that much you take off...or maybe 20th..
  22. what did you do in regards to your oil feed lines for the turbo?
  23. cheers guys...i just wasnt sure what they looked like in standard form. i did notice the combustion chambers of the head too. i should actually measure the valves to see if its got a 265 head on it. heard you run a 265 head and deck the block to up the comp again... 265 heads have larger valves.. win
