I'm probably gonna book the same place as last time for our Gisborne stop. The ol' lass at the front desk was a legend and loved the bikes. Secretly may have enjoyed sharing a unit with @Shakotom, @GuyWithAviators and @BLIZZO a little too much also. It was Waikanae Beach Motel. Bikes were safe as houses there. The Zoomer dude and the GN125/250 crew also stayed there. Bikes were kept out back behind our units out of view from the road. Keen for Chinese food again at that epic place with the Chi-Kiwi accented owner and his family and the local glass BBQ enthusiast that hung around outside. Will wait till @johnnyfive confirms route direction though or I may be riding by myself. Look at this eager beaver planning 6 months ahead. Moving house and got NZ Motorbike show in the same month. Gonna be busy. -

Yeah thats the meat works. They were epic. Also @HighLUX keen to ask your honest opinion on what it was like to do that whole ride on a 50. Was always curious but never got around to asking. -

Is that the maaassive place on the side of the road before the old ruined meat works etc? Looked pine worthy. -

Keen. x100000. Won't be posting this on the Moped NZ facebook page. Will throw some hearty dudes the deets for the event though. Also can I just say mirrors are great and at least one for the right hand side saves a whole bunch of head turning/crashing and breaking collar bones. -
Age old ride-tradition of buying all the parts from other countries and hoping they arrive before the ride has commenced. UK order done. Japan order placed tomorrow. Can't wait till next weekend!

Someone just came and visited me at work, 202 powered even. Not my thread I know, but Sam isn't always online so I thought I'd chuck an update here. You can expect to see Sam around the country in his van over the remainder of the year. I highly suggest following his facespam page if you're on there; that'll give updates on his location throughout the massive journey. The Barter Barber on Facebook -

Ken as for new thread and deets. Completely forgot about logging trucks too. I remember you guys warning us about that last time. I'm sure the same direction would be just as awesome, if not better than last year. Without the breakdowns etc we probably would have arrived at hicks bay way earlier which would be a cool place to hoon around in the late evening. Keen to check out that beach with the giant bulldozer boat towing machines and the selfie wharf again. Definitely bringing a bike that isn't so low to the ground this year. Hopefully the RSA can get enough signatures for us again. BLOOD AND GUTS. -

Start with Motu, good way to weed out the shit bikes. Would be a good last day too with that coastal road. Hmmmmnngggggghhhh. Food for thought. @GuyWithAviators came and tickled me for a couple of nights, we were planning/pining hard. -

We've left stuff there before safely enough. Just up around the corner from the Plaza itself. The lovely ladies at the Plaza liked the bikes too.
