First "light her up session". Seams to do what its supposed to do?

I was thinking of adding a pivoting arm that I could hang my water blaster off, kind of like those washworld places. But yeah, it will be used for the above for sure, as current I hang the odd deer in our house garage much to my kids delight and my wife's disgust.

Had a full day off, which is rear lately. So not being one to waste a minute of the day... I'll give it a day or more to cure...then attached the backboard to the pole. Ridiculous over engineering at its best, but it looks semi authentic. Stickers and all from its stadium past, as a former lighting tower from a sports stadium now repurposed to continue bringing joy to people in it's new form.

Finished the expansion chamber, welded and painted in high temp paint. Usual story when welding thin metal...alls going well, then you blow a hole in the thinner side...then make it worse, wose again and much more worse as the hole grows bigger, not smaller the more you try to fill it...then it all comes good again just as you're thinking about throwing it out the fucking door!!!

I've got a fuel pump you can have, probably what's already on yours. It uses case pressure to pump the diaphragm. Could go to a Jack shaft with a 1" clutch mounted on that. Chain driven between motor and jack shaft at any given ratio for your required purpose (cross kart...cough...cough...).

Yes, it's only very small drainage on the battery...but if left turned on (open position) it can drain battery in a day or so. Batteries are probably getting old too, so that doesn't help. I can disconnect the air lines to leave open without having solenoids turned on. But if used correctly the battery lasts months without thinking about it.

And got the exhausts sorted. I had to fudge it a bit to try make them line up in a relatively symmetrical way. It's just eyeballing...but its close enough to look about right. One is much shorter (95mm) than the other, but it will even out. Basically the longer of thr two will have more torque down low, then the shorter will produce more up high. In the middle of the rpm range they're going to be about the same. End of the day, none of that really matters as long as it does good skids!

Been crazy busy of late with real work, so haven't spent any time on my fun projects. But for a bit of timeout today I took a break from work and did this: Dome fitted to cylinder, this allows me to set correct squish band tolerance. Pull starter cover now doesn't fit, so a bit of nip and tuck... Tadah...sorted. So nothing spectacular, but it gave me 30 minutes of tuning out time and a few steps closer to finishing it.

Just double check sizes, but mine fit the rims on my old mobility scooter. The tyres were slightly different width and height...but not by much. The rim was fine.

The sack trolley tyres that have an offroad looking tread don't last, but on 4 wheels the consequence of failure is low. But the ones in that link are bulletproof! Tough as tyres that last well.

Pretty sure sack trolley tyres fit from memory and they are dirt cheap. Only negative is if you have nice concrete they leave black marks behind. I brought a box of 4 off Ebay that were like $30/4 or something like that? They are much better than normal sack trolley tyres and I also run these on my gopeds. I'll try find a link???

Funny how this topic comes up, but a year or two on these are still working sweet, opening and closing several times daily. They are near impossible to move against the air pressure, and if you do, they will slam on you as you try. No locks needed, the air pressure even when low holds them tight as a mofo! I still use the timer overnight to stop the compressor from running at nighttime. In the morning it usually drops to about 100psi which is still plenty enough to open and close the gates all day long even if there was a power cut. It really is a cool system with no real issues. I've adjusted it to open or close in about 5 seconds now. The gate moves fast, then hits the air cushions and soft closes the last part of the stroke. Kind of like a kitchen draw... a lot faster than in that YouTube clip. Overall I'd definitely do it again. The only negative is if you leave it open all day and night it can flatten the battery. I always have a second one ready charged to swap over. If you're careful and only open close as you need to, the battery lasts about 6 months without needing a change. Another possible thing I'd do differently next time would be to use steel posts. The timber swells and shrinks with the seasonal changes. This lifts or lowers the gates about 20mm at the non hinged end. It fucks with my OCD and I find myself adjusting them about 3 times a year to line them up again to meet perfectly in the middle. Small win...glovebox light now works

Took it for a thrash around a very winding bumpy road today. Bump stops are brilliant now, don't even notice them coming into play...but zero guard rubbing now. My steering limiters were a bit too big, so I've dropped out the extra nut. Works sweet! So overall, greatly improved things from how they were.

I'm not in love with this fence, but it's a million times better than what was there. Hopefully when painted black, it'll blend in better? Hard to see, but there's a hot wire on top to stop cows eating my trees!!! Those trees were all planted on the same day about 4 years ago, the ones the cows can't reach are 3m tall, the ones they can reach are 1m high bonsai trees...fucken cows!!!
