  1. So this meet is 3rd wednesday of the month. If we wanted to have a couple of beers, while soldering shit at my office, when? Say 1st tuesday/wednesday of the month? I have electronics stuff, so for those jobs like quick chip replacements etc, this could be a go. I'd like it to be semi-regular, but my work circumstances may change soon.
  2. Ah, per bike spam thread, I'm thinking about hot-glueing a stirling engine together, maybe using a gt125 with 90deg offset crank. I have a client who has ~1kw gas at ~300deg, and needs 100W electrical. Stirling engines need low thermal mass to get big temp change for expansion/contraction, I had it backwards back there: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stirling_engine
  3. Also, Physics guys. Where's a table of the specific heat capacity of gas at, sat 20degC and 1 atmos? If I wanted to pick a gas for high heat capacity, do I use Sulfur Hexafluoride? Edit, nope https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stirling_engine#Operation
  4. I need a 100W stirling engine. Anyone making them commercially?
  5. Because windows had me confused for a while. If it goes to sleep after a couple of minutes, even though you've set up the screen / power settings, here's how to enable the 'secret' setting to be able to adjust the "System unattended sleep timeout" function: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/246364-power-options-add-system-unattended-sleep-timeout.html
  6. Not for me, but my vote should count for less. Nape Nape is not what it was, and would need a reccy before deciding, I think.
  7. Hey thanks too MOF, great venue. Flushing turlet, in the middle of nowhere! Win!
  8. Hey, thanks guys, esp Felixx for organising. Enjoyed catching up for a chill time. Did we food it up or what? For onlookers:
  9. By the way, where / how meet up or pm location pls. Ta.
  10. Oh yeah, I'll bring bacon for the AM fryup.
  11. I'll be there, just one for now.
  12. I'll bring some anti-freeze.
  13. I have just bought four (cough) US gallons of 2T. The energy input may have been larger than I thought.
  14. chipset?
  15. Yesterday I bought $20 fuel (usual week, ~160ks). And $50 2T (usual month - 6wks). It may be running a little oil rich. Will report in next 2T purchase.
  16. I've checked in with my tyre guy, and he says he has to split them because of a tall rim on the wheel. He's given me a recommendation for Royce Clive Engineering, who he says will get a rim and make up a wheel to suit. I'll report back later.
  17. Hi I have split rims on the Dai 360, and it's becoming a PIA. Only shops w/ cage can do 'em, and I'm (slowly) running out of vile handling cross ply tyres. It has had radials (cavalinos!), and doesn't squirm appallingly under braking. Tyre guy tells me new radials have ribbed interiors, which chafe the tube, and will increase number of flat tyres I'm getting. Can I get them welded / airtight to run tubeless, and have it done properly, and safely? Is the cost feasible? Will it need crack testing every WOF? Im unsure if this counts as "critical" needing TIG welding, and I'm guessing the regime will be similar to widened steels? Thanks in advance!
  18. Nice work Roman. Re Yoeddy and Ned fuel pumps: Do you guys run your fuel rails like this? [Tank]---+---[pump]---[injector Rail]---[Pressure Reg]---+ | | +-----------------------------------------------+ edit: (courier new isn't fixed width?) re-edit: Huh??
  19. Sorry. Cct as abbreviation for circuit. As in circuit diagram
  20. Pic / cct diagram please. We can check for things like: current limiting resistors, and does the relay have a catch diode for its turn-off spike. (disclaimer, I screwed up exactly those things on a simple cct recently)
  21. Great turnout, a lot of new folks, new cars. Cheers
