  1. Made this tool to screw in the hook to hold the dremel to trim this bracket for on the backboard to hold this tape measure so I could measure the holes for this handle for my under bench tray It's so important to have an efficient work-space!
  2. Worse if she loves the idea?
  3. Time for 'is first beer, brummie
  4. I hear rumours of PGs lurking at a bottle-o in Marshland rd
  5. So, I wanna use a smart watch to trigger actions by just waving it at an nfc tag (e.g. one by light switch to set 'away' mode). It turns out that any SW with nfc only pretend to be a tag, like a pay chit for gym lockers. There's one guy who managed with an old Samsung (NLA), but no code published, and doubters. So I could build one, but lilygo T-Watch with expansion were only the 2019 version. So I probably shouldn't bother, right? But it's obvious, just waving your watch at a spot without having to get your phone out, unlock it, ok the action etc is far better UI, huh?
  6. Extending ^ this idea: how original do you want to keep it? Check this: https://www.billetproofdesign.com/hydro-clutch-hydraulic-clutch-assembly-kit-fits-1971-1984-harley-davidson-sportster-xl-with-ironhead-made-in-usa/
  7. Lindstrom are magic. I still use more mine from 30 years ago. $$ tho. Duratech and Tolsen seem ok quality for not much money. Mako elec screwdriver seems good so far for light duty, no torque limiter though.
  8. Nice find: datasheet here: https://media.melexis.com/-/media/files/documents/datasheets/mlx90324-datasheet-melexis.pdf Arduino code for a cousins here: https://www.melexis.com/en/documents/tools/tools-mlx90397---firmware-for-arduino and here https://github.com/melexis/mlx90392#readme PC stuff Prob easier to gut it.
  9. Oh, tricky. Drawing a blank so far, will look up more places later. Got OEM part number?
  10. Ooooh, blue caps!! Shiney! Ain't got nothing for you until you fish out the board and show me the chips, sorry.
  11. SuperCheap auto spade crimp sockets are shit. No spring, loose at the 1st use. Do not recommend.
  12. Pics. Clear circuit diagrams are better. If the input is delta connected, changing it to star would probably get you in the ballpark. Best have a sparky check it.
  13. Send me a pic of it's innards, and I'll tell you how to goose it. The resistor is gonna cost you 12c
  14. 2 || lipo, easy. Oh, you can has mains? Well, is 2Fiddy too much? https://www.jaycar.co.nz/13-8v-40a-switchmode-bench-power-supply/p/MP3089?gclid=Cj0KCQjwi7GnBhDXARIsAFLvH4mmOTYQPrmYhm-zriE338bz0AvlewRgMaoQkyPeuknaqPXv3SryrKIaAqK6EALw_wcB
  15. Matter if it's a couple of volts more? 18V 2Ah, $59 https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/black-decker-2-0ah-lithium-battery-18-volt/p/269913
  16. @Ned @kempy @P_Star what else we need? DIP switches, some RC filters, Analogue? 103kA SCR drivers for your Rail Gun?
  17. Oops Oh there's why. Who the bloody hell mounts the terminal in the flappy area of the alternator belt !!1!1 ... oh, me.
  18. True, if direct on line starting e.g. 3ph high eff squirrel cage motor. Inverter drive can bring this down to 200 - 300% when slow starting. Pic of motor plate you're having trouble with?
  19. Good point. Is the inverter set to ramp up speed slowly?
  20. Cain't remember if I showed you this? Good practical wiring guide:
  21. Do we need a vaguely car related / electronics thread? (per ^: dang, TOTP)
  22. @Ned or @kempy Topward TOPWARD 6303A Dual-tracking DC bench power supply -working up your way $50bux so far https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/electronics-photography/radio-equipment/amateur-radio/listing/4250718955 (sorta temped, but I have 4 bench PSU already and it'll be too heavy to courier, really)
  23. Nice, sneak it lower and put a nut / weld a captive nut to the underside? - oh thread for the oil hole blocks. As you were. Might want a sharper front corner for oil line sealing surfaces? *1. (Ignore*2, I figured it out, you clever man!)
  24. Clean run opposed piston 2T, 120hp from 500cc, nice graphic https://www.thedrive.com/news/company-builds-powerful-500cc-one-stroke-engine-immediately-installs-it-in-a-miata (Oh, the link worked!)
  25. Algodoo to was fun 2D physics modeller/game/ kids edu program, but awkward to edit objects after creation, and no parameterization. FreeCad physics seems to be about static FEM analysis. Suggestions on what to use to make a Dino skeleton out of rods and pivots and springs please ? Meccano? (There's a new CAD input package for Blender, but it looks rather Beta)
