  1. right so update i got a wof first time since 2009 on that not I thought I would post some photos of the old girl
  2. update, after not having a wof since 2009 she failed on two things spilt brake hose on the front and also scratches on the inside window that obstruct your field of view, talked to the auto glass man and said it was utter bullshit, so happy days fix those and hopefully get that sticker =D
  3. so got this Austin 1100 for cheap here in nelson, was going to use it for its engine and interior for the white car but turned out wayyyyy to nice and needed less fixing then Emily, so after changing the alternator, all the lamps and a new exhaust pumping the suspension back up to an appropriate height she is now ready for a wof, paint is a bit rough but I'm not fussy =D happy days of owning now 2 austins

    so do you need a boost compensator for a ld28? thinking about slapping a turbo on the landrover

  7. to wrap it all up chucked a new engine mount in, slammed the rack in the hole and bolted her all up snuggly lovely jovely Last on the list was wheel alignment the passengers side had massive toe out while the drivers was straight, rather then looking like a drunk man with a bad limp I did the wheel alignment can do 1km distance straight not touching the wheel, ran out of space. right so now is to drive the shit out of it to bed in the new rack its go kart tight at this moment in time but slowly been broken in, poor girl having a rod ram in and out of her, lovely steering box indeed
  8. new bush in, old one was loose and a goose with a few mills of play
  9. so next was getting the rack out, now Austin people know this is a really easy job............................... this is how I dropped the subframe. and the steering rack chilling on the ground after been a royal prick, little did I know taking it out was the easy part =(
  10. as with most of them this broke. as a good old kiwi I made a thin backing plate out of old plate steel and she was a goodin
  11. have a big list of parts after having a good inspection, number one on the list is a new clutch master cylinder, kinda self releases
  12. I have no idea how this car go a wof its should of not been on the road .
  13. found out at this point one of my steering rack cv was shit, no replacement so I took the arms off the hub instead
  14. right making friends in all the right places, mechanics that is, due to good fortune I have the use of a mechanics shop. this meant I can finally take on the massive under going of replacing the steering rack bushing and the front engine mount. here are some photos of the events that unfolded on this given day
  15. more to be updated soon alot of progress has been made, for the fact i have full use of a mechanics shop on sundays =D
  16. oh and my mount broke aswell i just put a backing plate onto the mount and bolted it to the floor =D
  17. about your rack being tight, i just done the same thing as you, mine getting looser the more i drive it was tight as first time i drove it go kart steering spec slowly getting better, took me a day to do the rack and engine mounts man what a job
  18. would love to do this but ahhh but clutch is self releasing at this moment, plus i dont have overalls and a helmet, maybe soon, have fixed the steering rack tight as a nuns cont now =D ill post pictures on build thread later =D
  19. im more then likely going to wing this one, have to spend some time with the battle axe, and have a few jobs going on =D thanks for the offer
  20. I'm not sure if I can trust the austin to make it there and back my steering rack end bushes are pretty flogged steering might fall apart not really but will access it later on if I can make it
