  1. If the disc isn't a prick to fit i will invest in hydraulic just wanted to look them over and see they'll fit on the 6.5" rim without clashing on forks or tyre everything is tight!
  2. Amazingly this thing has been rock solid lately and ridden heaps with nothing falling off or breaking. So ive given it some routine maintenance with a new chain and tweaked the back wheel mounts so i can slide the wheel back an extra 15mm, an oversight when i built it left the rear wheel a bees dick of clearance from a brace the runs behind the engine it used to grab stones and jam them into the brace shredding the tyres. Im trying to sort some better brakes too as it stops but not amazingly the rear does sod all and the front are a bit overworked so will see how these go. Could go twin up front but will need to go proper hydraulic to get back working well as the cables stretch to much.
  3. Look what the mobility man gave me. Its beat to shit but I'll see if i can make it a little bit more presentable and slap it on.
  4. Ive got that 4 bolt Suzuki LT50 Carrier in there now so can add some spacers and tack a pit bike disc on next to the sprocket. Well thats the plan at least. I want to run a hydraulic caliper as ive found with my scooter you get so much stretch in the cable the brakes barely work and this will be similar length. I need a taller tyre to get the 50t sprocket on so will address all of it at once as the axle needs to to come out for that.
  5. Mrs jumped on it today and gave it berrys halfway through me explaining it has no brakes cue me panicking as she flew up the road at huge pace. No crash she didnt know what all the fuss was about..... my steering tweaks have clearly worked
  6. Thats a lot of go peds. Are you starting some sort of awesome amusement park? If so can i reserve tickets.
  7. Proportions are comical as fuck and it uses plenty of plywood This has moved into first place as ridiculously fun transportation. Needs a seat cushion of some sort but perfectly ridable as is, i re used the fuel tank as it seems to hold hours worth of fuel..... enough for a weeks worth of liquor shop runs. New muffler has burned in to a nice gold colour and is really quiet which is great i can hear the tv over it.
  8. I also slowed down the steering its "less" twitchy at pace but will benefit from wider tyres.
  9. I completely stripped this down today and fully welded the chassis it had some half ass welds in places cut off the daggy bits and slotted the engine mount plate, new chain is on with the engine slid forward to tension it. While motor was off i blasted it with zinc black paint so the motor is on for good now, now to sort a seat over the motor and move the fuel tank. Excuse the wood board i did a milk and bread run on it, 4 ks up road no issues no one raised an eyebrow and it didnt miss a beat.
  10. Go water to air and stick the heat exchanging radiator in the tray so it doesn't get clagged up with muck when you do use it off road.
  11. Made a muffler for it just smacked it together from steelo pads and and some 2.5" tube...... spoiled my sons fun. @Kimjon wanted a side by side so i strapped a go pro to a child and this is the result.
  12. Even with my stuffed back picking this up is doable so will be easily stuck on the roof rack for missions. My scooter is a bit of an excercise to load in the car needing a ramp handlebars unbolting etc not to mention it is atrocious on gas it loves a drink.! Todays mission has to be a muffler of sorts its far to loud...... to even attempt a low key shop mission.
  13. Those still the sack trolley tyres ? They dont like been used to carry anything faster than walking pace have had them let go on sack trolleys with annoying regularity let alone at speed. Chinese quad bike tyres are $20 each treat it to some new ones.
  14. Haha my body is far more tuned to its own demise lately. I will bring it to a monthly meet though.
  15. The steering is way way way to quick and twitchy at adult speeds for now I'll change the pivot point see how it is. The 50t sprocket is too big with these itty bitty tyres its 2mm from the ground without the chain. Oh and it needs brakes.
  16. It runs its really tame on grass which is ideal. Ive been up the road on it, it gets along fairly well no shortage of grunt on tarmac had to weld the front suspension on it anything above walking pace it felt like it wanted to flip over.
  17. Should be just powerful enough to pull the skin off custard but will govern it so its fairly mild. The death ped is perfectly safe...... haven't fallen off it in like 6 months = safe.
  18. Just occurred to me i could set it up like this as a ultra compact goofy looking go kart. Exhaust will need addressing but could work and be not a whole lot extra work.
  19. Fitted to a happy running little engine. Its loud! Now it runs good going to need to address that rather quickly.
  20. My suspicion about the carb been gunged up were spot on, the float bowl was full of shit under the shit was rust clearly had water in there at some stage. Scraped it out blasted everything with oven cleaner scrubbed in hot water and blew everything out with compressor. Resulting in a happy little Mikuni
  21. Seeing as @Kimjon is likely right ive bought a bigger sprocket hopefully it fits with these wheels.
  22. I learned from 2 proper oldschool engineers. The first was my boss the second a guy he contracted who i learned all the good tricks from. A bench grinder with a fine stone is a must i use the side of the stone, eyeball the bit parallel with the stone using a scooping motion commit flip it over usually 2 dabs its bang on. You'll get to know when the helix of the drill is resting on your finger right and time it takes to put an edge back on. Ideally you want to put fuck all heat into it bit of water handy helps. Once a drill bit is thrashed and turned blue drilling holes it wont hold an edge long.
  23. Ive been looking forward to you getting back to this....... and eagerly await you finding a place where a Go-Ped part fits perfectly.
  24. It runs it sounds ok isn't terribly loud but something isnt quite right i think i may have filled the carby with crap. Again motivation is gone for today time to clean up and leave it alone for a bit will attack it again another day.
