  1. Just in case anyone is interested, the Toyo R888 and the Nitto NT-01 are a very similar compound rubber. (Half the Toyo R888's now are made in the US by Nitto.) Toyo's however have the advantage of being able to flip them on the rim due to being directional. This is especially good if you only go to one track that is the same direction all the time. (I.e. Taupo is always anti-clockwise, and Pukekohe is clockwise.) You will wear one side a lot more than the other so flipping them on the rim will mean they will last a lot longer. Own experience; I used Kumho V700's (victoracers) in a 225/45R17 on my old S14. They were pretty good. I found the 225/50R16 Toyo R888's to be a lot better and a lot more predictable when on the track.
  2. Generic mesh because they're so common? Only modernish mesh wheels I've come across that don't have a centrecap covering the stud holes.
  3. These have been confirmed to be a Weds Adula Mesh. Probably the only set in Australasia once they show up.
  4. I have one in Rotorua. Bit further away, but thought I'd mention it just in case.
  5. I have a set of 4 14x5" steel wheels without tyres you can have if anyone here can take them to you from Rotorua?
  6. Interesting, that is the closest wheel I've seen to it so far. Still has a minor difference with the Weds having the extra holes between the stud holes. Thanks though! I'll look more into those and see if there was any minor revisions or anything.
  7. Tried to edit that post, but for some reason I can't? Wanted to add; If it ever comes to it, the reality is that a proper sealant such as those mentioned above would be a better option. I was more just throwing a thought out there as an alternative option.
  8. I'm not too sure. It's like a thinner version of the shitty cheap black sealant you can buy from Repco in the orange tube. (I think anyway.) It's about as thick as a standard outdoor house paint if that's any good as a comparison. For sealing between bead lip and tyre it's amazing, but I've never used it on doing wheels before.
  9. Some more photos if they help: First photo you can see the Weds stamp, but nothing else to say which model they are.
  10. No no, that's tyre lube/tyre mounting compound/tyre paste. This is more what I'm referring to:
  11. No, the job of a bead sealer is to seal between a wheel and tyre, not a wheel piece and wheel piece. Repair sealer is for the inner liner. The only reason I ask, is if it would work, is there a reason for it not having been mentioned in this thread?
  12. Anyone know if a typical tyre shops 'bead sealant' or 'repair sealant' would do the job?
  13. Wheels aren't in my possession yet. I'm in the process of buying them form Japan. The top photo has a picture on the wheel, but it isn't big enough or clear enough to be legible.
  14. Anyone have any idea what this wheel is. I've established it's a Wed's wheel but I can't find what model. Getting them for my S12, but want to try and find centre caps for them. Looks like a wheel that Weds and BBS got together to produce. Size is 16x8.5 +35 if that matters.
  15. Did a little bit more on this today. Swapped out the Z32 rack-ends in the front for some slightly shortened S14 ones. I can actually get the wheels to point straight now rather than having massive toe out. Also pulled the factory handbrake lever out so I can start adapting the tunnel for the S14 lever to go into it.
  16. Brief update. The trailer is definitely not at fault. Hooked it up to our other work ute and they work fine. Still can't find the problem with it so it's going to an electrician next week.
  17. http://bgworldwheels.co.nz/default.asp Try them. They import Cragar wheels. They also do the ones that bolt on with the wheel nuts.
  18. Haha, I doubt this'll happen. If it comes down to it and I can't do anything to it for a while, I'd chuck it in a storage shed. In saying that, a lot of the stuff I still need to do is stuff that I'm just too lazy to do and that'd cost me bugger all. Like making a gearbox crossmember. Would probably be quite easy except I haven't got my ass around to doing it.
  19. Long time. I've just had a daughter show up so money and time isn't as great as it was before.
  20. Shhh... I like Y's. Seriously though, I should get it changed... One day. I'll wait till the car is going first.
  21. Japanese Import. I know in NZ it's spelt Silvia. I'm lucky with this one though, it's spelt the same as Japan: My S14 was a 200SX as well. Silvia isn't quite in my vocabulary
  22. Have done this already. Wire brushed them and saturated them with contact cleaner
  23. Just another thought I had, is it possible an incorrect bulb in the ute may cause an issue with trailer wiring? I haven't checked them at all, but just trying to eliminate the easiest options first.
  24. It was pretty easy. Just getting the spline shaft made up was the only thing. Cost a few $$$ to get done. (I don't know exact amount as it was done with a heap of other stuff.) Just getting the tie rod's sorted was the biggest problem. One day!! Haha, gotta get it running first.
