    Joe's 1976 CB400f

very cool, I had one when I was 17, it had a Dunstall fairing and tail, it smoked so bad out the exhaust, the piston on the far right cylinder had about 3 mm of clearance
  3. That looks relay cool. I had a CB360 bobber when I was living in wellington it came from Palmerston north, it had a custom made frame but it was swing arm and the exhaust was made to look like a double barrel shotgun. Wonder if parts of this bike are from the one I had?
  4. Is it K jet mechanical fuel injection? they shit fuel pump relays like its going out of style, and do like what it sed above, sand all the ends of the fuses lightly
  5. north shore engine reconditioners, 6 Hillside Road Glenfield is a good guy to talk to and get work done, or Carr Engine services, 63 Carr Road Mount Roskill. they do all the old stuff and seem to me much cheeper than other shops if you need heads planed or cylinders bored
  6. Hello I need 2 threads screw cut into a peace of hex bar, a left and a right could someone help me with this?

    RWD diff noises

the only thing I can think of is being an auto an stopped at the lights there is a bit of load on the spool and it swaps the drive to the other axle witch makes the tap sound?

    RWD diff noises

What dose it mean when there is a "tap" noise like someone has hit something with a small hammer when I am sitting at the lights not moving? some times it dose it when going round a round a bout, if I hit the gas and take my foot off agearn there is no clunking and the diff feels good, Its my 81 Volvo 245 wagon, it has a slip diff and automatic, I put new oil it it about 20,000 miles ago, my falcon did the same thing,
  10. after putting in some new fluid I disconect the trans cooler line at the rad and run the engine till the flud runs clean,
  11. They support the core from bulging and splitting when its under pressure I think, I cut down a radiator and the shop sed it must be supported from expanding
  12. Having the fans in front of the radiator can block air flow, can you fit them behind?

    Carb stuff

Those adapotos are a bit crappy, I used one to put an 850 Holly spread bore onto a square bore intake manifold, one of the passages on the carb wasn't covered by the spacer and leaked air, it looked crappy and made the carb too high.
  15. I was going to use Yamaha mag wheels but they wern't wide enough, I rember the first time I started it it burst into flames from petrol witch had driped onto the top of the gearbox
  16. I think I mainly made the big sissy bar to piss people off, its handy for tiying the tent to so I don't have to bring all the poles, I don't like the exhaust system, its a fuck up, it needs a 4 into one or something just on one side
  17. Yer something like that would be good, are they in NZ?
  18. Here is my 1976, I bought this one as it had a fully rebult motor and trans, I pulled the motor out for my Teal 75 and put in another one witch had high KMS but was still ok, Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  19. Just went to start the 900 and the grommet fuel hose had gone rock hard. dose anyone know where to get inline fuel taps to sute a bike? can't find them anywhere
  20. I got this 1982 Yamaha XS650 from the bike shop I worked at for $500 as the customer never came to pick it up in 6 years, I made some drag pipes, I blew the gearbox and crashed it on the Rimutaka hills wellington, had to replace everything in the gearbox from another motor, then I trashed it so much the big end bearings failed, I had built a custom frame for it but I never got to finish it
  21. I had a 1977 CB750 K7, they seem to have used them heeps back in the day as choppers but there worth quit alot of money now
  22. This is what the bike looked like befor apart from mine was blue red and wite, the guy before me and striped it town to rebuld it and lost the front forks and wheel and left the tank outside to rust.
  23. I built this as a project when I was 19 at uni much to everyone's disgust, it was a 1983 Honda CB900 Boldor (rollerdoor), most of the bike went in the bin, and it got a Suzuki intruder front end, Triumph rear hub and Harley rim and guard, and custom hard tail frame, shorted the frame and now it will do wheelstands in 1st and 2nd gear, it was too loud with the open pipes, so it got a cople cobys. I have nealy ground the side stand off on the road on the corners Going to build another one soon, I was thinking of turning this into a rat bike and rusting it up a bit, and I want to make pittsburgh stacks about 6ft tall past my sissy bar.
  24. bad earth somewhere, or someone has used a power wire as an earth?
  25. You don't need a repear cert if you do it your sef and do a good job so no one can see it or take it to the pnallel beeter and don't tell the VIN people , They can make you sandblast the whole underbody if they find a small spot of rust, so make sure you underseal and panit over any chips and surfis rust or you have to pay some one with his socks pulled upto his knees 100 bucks a min to do nothing
