weetbixkid
I'm working on converting my sons BMX bike to take a 50cc GY6 engine but its transmission has me stumped. Its currently CVT belt driven but the distance between engine and wheel bearing is not enough to fit a BMX rear Tyre. So my choices are: Get rid of the engine and buy a simple 50cc pit bike engine or Convert the engine into chain driven and either ditch the CVT or use the CVT with and extension chain. I would prefer to do option 2 as the engine is pretty much new and the scooter it came from only had done 1194km. Please tech gods help me!!! tortron
Cut the rear half of the transmission off and extend it back. Will need a new longer belt

tortron
An excessively long belt is probably not the best, but I don't thing you will have an issue for your application. There's factory long case gy6"s that people like to use for big wheels. They use the same cvt components between them
