antz
Hey guys I've recently dropped a 253 with a trimatic from an HQ into my HX that used to have 202 with a 3 on the tree. Have just been trying to wire up the kickdown switch i installed - and in the process realised that this trimatic doesnt (i don't see it anyway) the kickdown solenoid and the vacuum modulator is already hooked up. Just want to double check whether some trimatics were controlled only by vacuum and there is no need for a kickdown switch? Thanks
Kiwibirdman
I did the same conversion in an HQ a few years ago and never got round to fitting the kick down wiring. The trimatic did everything right for the year or so I drove it until the 253 was completely worn-out and got ditched for a 308 and TH350. My advice would be to drive it and see how it goes. You wont damage anything because the kick down is only activated on full throttle. Mike
