Popular Post sheepers
the other day i painted the C pillar trims and the panel that goes between the tail lights. I'm sold on this colour so tomorrow ill get a liter of it mixed and that should be more than enough to paint the few remaining bits. didn't get much done today. i did a few little things yesterday like paint all the headlight buckets and the grill support brackets for the front. i put it together today and stuck the grill and bumper fill panels on to trial fit them and see how they look. its pretty good, ill chuck the bumper on tomorrow and just check how well it all fits together but so far so good. 2016-01-17_04-21-47 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-01-17_04-21-59 by sheepers, on Flickr
sheepers
i dunno if I've mentioned it before but all the brightwork on this car has been pre-fucked by whoever painted it red last time around. parts that are usually chrome, like the C pillar trim, the taillight/headlight surrounds and bumpers had been sanded and fucked in the past in order to paint them red. so I've had to bead blast them and paint them again. hence the gunmetal grey colour. so with that in mind here are the bumpers with their first coat of primer on them. tonight i also prepped and primed the front infill panels and the rear number plate mount. i ordered another liter of the grey today and i should get that tomorrow then i can finish paint a few more parts. 2016-01-18_08-26-10 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-01-18_08-26-23 by sheepers, on Flickr

Popular Post sheepers
another cool day in the shed. 2016-01-25_06-11-53 by sheepers, on Flickr i fitted up the front bumper and its sitting fairly well. just need to figure out what colour to paint the grill and i can put that in too. 2016-01-25_06-12-04 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-01-25_06-12-16 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-01-25_06-12-24 by sheepers, on Flickr oh, and i also painted the scuttle panel bit that goes between the wipers. 2016-01-25_06-13-04 by sheepers, on Flickr
Popular Post sheepers
Nick the sparky came over last night and did some wires. the wiring on this thing was really fucked, there was just shit going everywhere and things linked that should not be linked etc so Nick has pretty much re-wired the front part of the car. the lights/indicator loom wasnt too bad but hes tidied that up and looped the high/low circuits so all four headlights work as high/low. the engine loom is in two parts now with the computer loom being separate and the power feeds/alternator/starter trigger/gauge feeds all being together and running in their own loom. it is pretty tidy now with just a few things needing hooking up under the dash to get the motor running. oh, while Nick was practicing being a choice cunt he also reco'd the starter and the alternator so they're both brand new now too. but last thing last night he started going on about mopars so i cut his head off and rested it on the dash, as you can see in this picture, 2016-01-28_08-57-45 by sheepers, on Flickr
sheepers
more wires. the end result of which is more things work now. 2016-01-30_09-19-23 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-01-30_09-19-32 by sheepers, on Flickr Nicks hands were just a blur with activity and he did activities that resulted in the engine starting. so it goes now. it starts and idles without having to pour a whole bunch of fuel down the intake. it also works the fuel pump relay properly off the air flow meter trigger (if the motor stops the pump stops). it has a fuel pump relay (there were no relays or fuses anywhere). and it has many things which it never had before. like adequate size power feeds to everything. some wires which make the gauges work and many other things. so now that it all works we can tidy up the loom and tidy it all away and its done.
Popular Post sheepers
painted the grill this morning and put the other headlight in and put the headlight trims back on. 2016-01-30_02-10-38 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-01-30_02-10-29 by sheepers, on Flickr the other ting that happened is i put the roof line trim back on and put all the roof line seals back on so that s all done now too. [/ url]2016-01-30_02-11-13 by sheepers, on Flickr and in other news i finally got in touch with the guy in thailand that made the duck bill spoiler that i have on my V8. i bought it off ebay and it fits really well and its just a bit shorter than all the other ones you can buy which i think looks better. anywho, after messaging the guy heaps and getting no reply he finally listed a spoiler for sale and i bought it. so when that turns up ill paint it red and put it on.
Popular Post sheepers
I've been doing a few bits and pieces that really don't add up to much but its all got to be done. so door latches are in and working, I'm missing a passengers door handle but its Mike to the rescue again there. what else? rear quarter window installed (only one because I'm missing a guide) and also i got the hood lining recovered and i picked that up yesterday so thats ready to go in. today i made the trim bits for the inside of the A pillar and glued them in, then i put the windscreen in. that was BY FAR the most difficult windscreen I've ever had to install, don't know why it was just a cunt. my fingers are destroyed but its in. now i can install the head lining (it sits on a secondary lip on the front windscreen rubber) and put the rear glass in too. hopefully thats not such a cunt to install…. 2016-02-10_06-26-10 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-02-10_06-26-41 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-02-10_06-26-55 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-02-10_06-26-27 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-02-10_06-27-10 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-02-10_08-41-45 by sheepers, on Flickr
sheepers
other one in. was way easier than the front one, fairly normal if anything. 2016-02-11_05-44-36 by sheepers, on Flickr
sheepers
Nick "the legend" sparky came over last night with the freshly rebuilt alternator and we chucked that in and finished the engine loom. the engine bay is looking pretty good now. i need to weld up some cracks in the rocker cover and paint it, and the intake, black but its getting there. so with its new found "goingness" i took it for a drive this morning. by far the longest I've ever driven it. maybe 4Ks. it seems to go alright. the front left brake caliper is sticking a bit so that might need attention but for a "first drive" all went well. its pissing oil out the cracks in the rocker cover which is to be expected but apart from that all seems to be well. there is a small issue with the alternator but I'm sure Nick the sparky will sort that out toot sweet. so next to do is everything else. finish polishing/repairing the window chrome and stick that on. millions of things still to do…….
Popular Post sheepers
the front spoiler showed up today. it fits and is well made, which is diametrically opposed to the last pile of shit i bought. i drilled some holes in it and bolted it on. all G. so now ill paint it red. i also finished fitting the door glass and adjusting the glass to sit right with each other and the top seal. I've set them pretty tight because all the seals are new so it should bed in a bit. I've ordered new door belt seals and ill fit them when they turn up. its also got a matching set of door locks so its now lockable. tomorrow ill give it a hosing and see if it leaks. celica doors are pretty good if all the seals are new so it should be right. 2016-02-16_04-50-12 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-02-16_04-50-26 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-02-16_08-51-20 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-02-16_08-51-28 by sheepers, on Flickr
sheepers
roof. as in the inside of it. today i put hood lining in and got it all sorted. i can't thank Mike (sleektoy) enough for giving me the parts i need to keep this thing progressing. without his help id still be trying to find bits and it probably wouldn't even be painted. today he dropped off the ultra rare pinch rail trims that hold in the also ultra rare GT cardboard hood lining that he also gave me. I'm sure ill need more bits before this thing is through and I'm guessing Mike will come to the rescue once again. this is a picture of the rare as fuck notchback GT roof line trims that i washed then painted black. 2016-02-19_02-25-57 by sheepers, on Flickr so i put the hood lining in. the fabric is supposed to lip under the rear glass rubber and consequently its in for good once the glass is installed. i didn't want this to be so. why? why you ask? well, i wanted the new owner to be able to remove the hood lining in the future so the roof rails can be re-cavity waxed. so i made an aluminum rail that screws into the roof rail at the back to hold the hood lining in. this way it can come out without to much drama. this is the bit i made. 2016-02-19_04-39-12 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-02-19_04-49-44 by sheepers, on Flickr also in other news i put a sealer coat of high build primer on the spoiler so i can begin prepping it for colour. 2016-02-19_07-23-49 by sheepers, on Flickr
sheepers
put some bog into this to try and get the shape a bit better. at the end of the day its a fiberglass part and its never going to be prefect but it looks a bit better now. i put another coat of primer on it and ill block it tomorrow night and see how it looks, if its looking ok ill put some colour on it. 2016-02-23_08-44-10 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-02-23_08-43-54 by sheepers, on Flickr
