Shandangles
Hey all, Im using my old mans sj413 for the week while im back in chch. I has a pretty high idle, in the region of 1500-1900 RPM. I know next to nothing about carbs so am wondering if any of you clever chaps know where the idle adjustment is on the carb?? sorry for shitty pics Cheers
mattscort
Find the throttle cable where it acts on the carb linkage, there is usually an adjustable stop on this to set the idle. But I had this problem on an electric choke suzuki, electric choke had stuck on causing high idle and used a bit of fuel, just an idea
Mof
That's manual choke, same as mine until I swapped for 1.6l (and I can see the cable) Lemmie just borrow your pic
BLIZZO
These are manual choke not electric choke. Like said above change the throttle adjustment on the carb so it's a bit longer to drop the revs. Other than that these pile or shit motors / carbs are shocking for wearing out where the butterfly shaft goes through the carb housing causing them to suck in air, mine did this and I ended up chucking a carb off a swift on it which was there for about 5 mins until I put a vitara 1600 efi in it. But yea, adjust throttle cable
Mof
The red one is idle adjustment and the green one is idle mixture by the way (adjust at operating temp, with fingertips, and burn the shit outta them, its the only way to do it) Also, adjust your choke cable mount so its not kinking the outer cable so much
