felixx
So I have a new switch for my wipers, it is off a roverp6 it allows me to fit a 2 speed escort wiper motor and also an electric window washer so I have sorted the terminals for the window washer however the anglia has 3 wires connected to its single speed switch, a red one and a black one. Both appear live. It has a black and white earth wire . Why are there 2 live wires on this switch? the new switch has 4 terminals, labelled 1 2 3 4 terminal 4 appeared to be the common one that when wires were connected to terminals 1 or three the switch worked and terminal 4 I could get a light to glow. So thats easy. what is the 4th terminal for? can I just jam one live wire on 1 and one on 4 and connect my earth to terminal 3 to get a single speed wiper with wash pump? im too scared to blow it up
SOHC
The 2nd wire stays live to park the motor when the switch is turned off or some shit
felixx
So if I try them on the terminals one and 4 then the other way round and see what happens?
SOHC
So if I try them on the terminals one and 4 then the other way round and see what happens? Open up the gearbox part on the motor and you will see what contacts park the wipers
