BlownCorona
The first V8 i built for myself when i was an apprentice, i torqued up the last one and it snapped off. now i always replace them for peace of mind its nice to know it happens to the best then aswell! though i had thought about only replacing the 4 that i over torqued, but after your comment im leaning towards doing the whole lot
sluggy
When you replace the studs, because they are a press fit it will likely make the big end oval, at least check them with a bore gauge.
BlownCorona
just had a good read up on it and it looks to be pretty vital and not something id be too keen to try and get away with. i also think having all the rods nice and round would be a good peace of mind anyway so ill add that to the list of jobs for the new year,
