mfordy
Does anybody know someone in Auckland doing this mod to type 9 gearboxes. (as per two_days_late's escort) http://oldschool.co....showtopic=30780 Gearbox is back from the Cemick Engineering in Petone where Carl shortened it down. I needed it to be 82ml shorter and he managed to get it to 75ml. Should be plenty though and means I can use the standard gear level hole, and have the shifter in the nice factory position. Also means I can keep the standard centre console.
Avenga
Bygone Autos down on the North Shore did the same thing with my type 9 conversion on my Avenger. I had the same problem with my Avenger but they managed to get it to come up through the factory gear lever hole. Here is a photo And a link to the 5 speed conversion they did. They have since put in a quick shift kit which made a huge difference in feel. http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=60.
mfordy
Thanks Avenga for the contact. Turns out Neil Allport Motorsport does them as well.
